I am 34 years old and a single man. This is very accurate. We don’t talk about sex, props to focus on the family.

I agree with Dr. Slaterry. Information of sexuality based on God's design is lacking in the church and household. It's not just about rules. It is part of who we are in His design, part of our identity in Him.

I just came across this video yesterday, I havent even listened right through to the end but I agree, seemingly physical intimacy needs to be addressed, in finding God's design about it. First, we need to seek the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness and live Christ centered lives. And also lives that are deeply fulfilling in our homes and in physical intimacy without shame. I hurt for the lady who lived all her adult life before marriage in purity and struggled on her honeymoon. And to me it makes perfect sense. I'm glad that I did nt encounter such issues. Partly because when I got married I was a backsliden christian and though I came back to the Lord after my short marriage of almost six years, physical intimacy was no challenge. I figured out quickly it is in God's design and needs to be celebrated beautifully in marriage. May the Lord help this ministry to empower other chistians out there who are sincere and live the gospel yet struggle in this area. I also like the idea of blessing your husband and may I add: also bless your marriage and physical intimacy aspect of it.

WHERE IS THE CHURCH TAKING ON THE WORLDS SEXUAL STUFF ? ALL I've ever experienced in "the vhurch" is SHAME, AVOIDANCE, AND LEGALISM. teaching? What freaking teaching?

Kathy Myers don’t place the people you have dealt with as the rest of all the people that call themselves the church. You know what is true and a lie. Don’t follow the lie. Follow the truth. It will set your free. You can blanket statement a gender. So don’t blanket statement a church. Listen to this lady. She is quoting scripture.

Let me slow this down. This lady described the fallen Christian thought on sexuality in God's eyes like this: How I and others should view God's laws and His righteousness on the matter of physical sexuality is this, 'I use my own experience as the tool by which I measure what is right or wrong about what is written. God's Word is not the foundation for the salvation of my soul. My word and experience is. And that is MY OPINION!'

fixing the culture is not the mission of the Church.
@stephenpiper2052
@stephenpiper2052 5 жыл бұрын
Teaching the Church how to live in a healthy and Godly way is part of discipleship which is one of the many missions of the Church. It's not about "fixing" world culture. Deconstructing aspects of world culture that have become "church culture" with the purpose of enabling those within the Church to have a more fulfilled life has the added benefit of enabling stronger relationships with God, individually speaking. If this is not one of the main missions of the Church, then why are we encouraged to bear one another's burdens? And always seek to edify and build up one another? And love our neighbor as our self? And take greater care in helping those within the Church, than trying to "fix" those without? Love is the sum of our entire mission as The Body of Christ. If we can't have true intimacy with our own spouse, how can we show the authentic and unbiased Love of Christ to anyone? If we say we love God, but we have difficulty in truly loving our brethren in the Church by helping in any way possible, 1 John 4:20 calls us a liar. It's pretty clear in the Bible that the commandment of "love your neighbor as yourself" means to love every--single--person--everywhere, period. If we truly love God rather than religious tradition, then we go out of our way to love everyone regardless of who they are, what they've done to us or our loved ones, and we learn what God says by feeding ourselves with His word and praying constantly. Intimacy of every sort begins with a one on one, personal relationship with God. There is no other "right" way. There is no other mission of the Church than to love God first, with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our "neighbor" as our self. I pray that this clears things up, brother.

@@stephenpiper2052 I agree with all you said. Maybe I misunderstood when he said early on concerning the world culture "We have to turn that around".
@stephenpiper2052

@@billherrick3569 I can see where one might misunderstand. I went back in search of that statement he made, (which begins at 0:37 seconds), and right after that he says, "Backing up or backing out of that conversation is probably the worst decision we could make for our young people within the Church." "That conversation" being the topic of physical intimacy and "the moral brokenness that is so rampant in our culture today." What Jim is saying that we need to turn around is the reluctance of the Church to discuss and teach about these issues. And I couldn't agree more.

Lovely, God made us as sexual beings from the time he created us, but what has happened is that our world system has taken it and twisted it to meet its humanistic expectations. Now we need to seek the face of God so that we can clearly identify God's intent for sexuality and not the humanistic intent for sexuality, which causes much confusion in the world. God did create man for woman and woman for man, but because of humanism and the "me" generation, it has erased the clarity of God and His original intent for sexuality in humanity. People forget God created sexual behavior for a purpose, and it is to glorify his name,. What has happened is the world has taken it and turned it into something it can use to abuse abused people. There is no one who can say that pedophilia is in God's intent. There was no one who can say that same sex is in God's intent because, if you do, then you're saying that God is addle- brained, and had no real pattern for creation. Good broadcast, and very good points about addressing the brokenness before you can address any behavior outside of God's plan. Very important part of the "getting to the root of the matter" dialogue. The book sounds great.

So Focus On The Families hard core homophobic bigotry has now become sort of 'polite' and 'unstated'. It's still horseshit. Not 'faith-based' at all. Just plain garbage.

So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander. - Titus 2 (ESV) They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. - 1 timothy 5 (ESV) Dr. Slattery likely ignored this aspect of God commanding that women stay home to make home; assuming she has children and that she worked outside the home at that time or getting the higher degrees. This is the greater issue that needs to be discussed because when a women submits to the Lord she will biblically submit to her husband gladly and make a home a home, which includes the sexua aspect. Today, few women make a home a home and few husbands are the first priority and the result is dysfunction in God's order. I know from personal experience as it is an ongoing issue for the past 2.5 years as I have tried to have the scripture bear upon her life with these principles. The marriage bed is the ultimate expression of a couple's submission to the Lord and intimacy within the marriage overall. Where the intimacy is struggling the submission to the Lord is also struggling. Ours has struggled for nearly 28 years with no end in sight. In Genesis 3 the curse made it difficult for a women to submit to her husband and by extension to the Lord; so now I try to apply the living with her in an understanding way and to love her as much as I can given the circumstances - so pray for us all who read this - Thanks.

You can both make a home - taking care of your household while being involved with work or other activities. The Proverbs 31 woman was PRAISED by her very children, and, she even showed care for the maidseevants who helped around her home. While being such a woman, she was also involved in her own ventures, ie. She bought a vineyard, and was in some other merchant ventures. We don't have to choose one or the other, we can do both as she did :) We just need to know our priorities :)
