I don't for one second doubt the character of Steph Curry or his intentions, which I believe to be the very best. But honestly, this whole conversation was just fluff California politics talk. I doubt Steph has any idea what "equity" even really is, along with it's logical dark undertones and how it differs from equality. I don't think he realizes he's pushing a thoroughly debunked idea about the gender wage gap. He is surrounded by hyper progressive elitist Californians who all treat him very well because of his position and willingness to support their political causes and charity organizations (that I highly question how much money actually gets to real people they claim to support and not just the salaries of political activists.) And like I said, I think he is an extremely good and genuine guy. I just don't think he actually knows what he's talking about. There is no substance to this conversation. It's a bunch of very nice sounding buzzwords eloquently spoken by a guy who thinks he's doing the honorable and mature thing. He just hasn't had anyone really question any of it. Like I said, I doubt he could explain the wage gap concept, it's counter arguments, or the concept of equity. But I don't even blame him, because these are dressed up words and concepts made to sound good to well intention liberal minded people who are to insulated in their own bubbles to realize there are legitimate criticisms of these ideas that aren't just "far right conservative talking points" to dismiss without consideration.

well for his college degree he wrote a thesis paper on that topic which requires your own original research so on the knowing what he's talking about part im sure he's well aware. also i dont believe he would be investing his hard earned money on a cause that he doesnt see the benefits in for 5+ years 🤷🏻

@snowflower0613 Wow, knowing that actually makes both him and the :"research" he was exposed to look even worse. The commenter you're replying to is 100% spot-on. "Equity" is a disastrous idea when examined logically and the gender wage gap has been debunked so many times now it's laughable. Steph seems like a great guy, but he clearly needs to unlearn A LOT before he wastes more money on causes that will do exactly nothing to help the people they are intended to help.

@LawrenceAugust_ for a term that has such a wide spectrum of meaning bc its highly situational yall are really jumping into the conclusions that are entirely negative lol. again, i dont think he can do anything really if the organizations choose to take his contributions for granted, but he must know wherever he is investing has yielded result as he has and still is contributing to it. we will never know for sure tho but since we all agree his intentions are pure hearted, we can only hope the resources are actually helping 🤷🏻
