Everyone could tell that Abby was messed up and she was messed up while at work. Maybe she wasn't drunk but she was hungover and completely out of control at times. Sam is pissed because that would've put patients at risk and the hospital as a whole in danger. She's not judging Abby for being an alcoholic, she's judging her for her actions.

There’s nothing wrong with how Sam reacted. A nurse who gives a crap about patients. She’s basically asking if she’s ever put her addiction over the welfare of patients.

At this point you can see a whole different cast, and a whole different dynamic in the show. Season 11 saw the beginning of the program's precipitous ratings decline, dropping from 8th to 16th place, then 30th the next year, and 40th the year after that. By season 14, viewership had dropped to a third of what it was in the show's heyday.

@@kimberly11091 thanks for link but way she acted toward abby was wrong in a way i mean abby did the right thing by not telling the staff right way because in real life and in reality its never too easy tell everyone your a drunk and as for sam reaction she wasn't perfect mom to alex when he was young so for her ask abby if she ever drunk at work was wrong i know she probly helping by asking that was kinda uncalled for and confront her in front of the staff i mean if she wanted know if abby drank at work she should ask abby in a place that was private.

Luka should've been in this scene. He would've shut Sam's disrespectful ass down. I mean he would've just cut his eyes at her and she would've shut up. Like lady half the people in this room nearly died cuz of your jailbird baby daddy. Alcoholism is a disease. Your judgment just sucks
