My favorite was the one where a carjacker targeted a deaf lady. She had her rear window rolled down and he tried to get into the backseat to ambush her. She didn’t see him and rolled up the window around his neck. She finally saw him at a stoplight blocks later and he was already dead. He got just what he deserved.

Interesting fact here Doc. This show is based entirely on true stories. Meaning all these deaths are 100% REAL. Accidents do happen. This series is so gory. It’s like Final Destination times 100. You should react to more episodes. We look forward to your next video.
@cooltrainervaultboy-393 жыл бұрын
I feel like some of these are exaggerated. Like the one where a guy swallows 15ft of chain and attached it to his lip piercing to try and create a new trend, but dies from a forklift giving him a wedgie after it catches his chain. I think he called it the, "Chainal"?
@nandanthony3 жыл бұрын
all the deaths are real, but the characters assholeness is bumped up quite alot to make people feel less bad i guess. still feels iffy to me tho.
@SpearM30643 жыл бұрын
Wrong! Not all of them are real, or even based on real events (despite what they say during the introduction). Like the story "Titty Titty Bang Bang" where a woman got cheap breast implants which exploded with enough force to literally blow her boobs off when she took an airplane flight and she bled to death. That one was busted by the Mythbusters... even the cheapest breast implants don't enlarge _that_ much, even in _total vacuum._ An airplane cabin is pressurized to 10.9 psi, the equivalent to 8,000 feet altitude. That's a difference of only 3.8 psi from air pressure at sea level. If breast implants won't explode in total vacuum, they won't explode at 10.9 psi. Another example of one that definitely wasn't real was the one where two bible thumpers accidentally caused an explosion in an _empty grain silo._ Sorry, but NO. Grain silo explosions occur when an ignition source is applied to a specific density of grain dust. To be fair, active grain silos CAN and HAVE exploded and killed people. In 2018, there were 12 grain dust explosions causing one death and four injuries. However, an EMPTY and UNUSED grain silo (as in the story on the show) WILL NOT and CAN NOT explode. Even if there was still some grain in the silo, depending on how long that grain's been sitting there, it's more likely that they would've died from toxic gases caused by rotting or diseased grain, or the fumigants used to control grain silo pests, or from being sucked into the grain and crushed, which is called _grain engulfment._ Some stories contain _elements_ of the truth, combined with fiction, like "Onesie and Donesie", where an accident-prone TV shopping network host is injured by a collapsing ladder, stabbed by the tip of a broken katana, then finally burned to death when a onesie he is wearing catches fire. IN REALITY, the collapsing ladder happened to Harold McCoo on the Cable Value Network in 1988 (he was unhurt). The katana incident happened to Shawn Leflar on the Knife Collector's Show on the _Shop at Home Network_ in 2001 (he was injured but not severely). The onesie catching fire? TOTALLY MADE UP. That part NEVER HAPPENED... and while the other two parts DID happen, they didn't happen to the same person and neither one of them died! Now, that's not to say they're ALL made up. An example of one that DID happen, but not as they describe it, is the one where two terrorists, trying to build an atomic bomb, accidentally fumbled a tungsten carbide brick, which made contact with the plutonium core, and they were both exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. In truth, that story is based on the _Demon Core_ accident that happened to scientist Harry Daghian in 1945 (you can find the Demon Core accident on Wikipedia.) The story of Harry Houdini was also real; but then again, that one's pretty much a matter of public record. Another one that really happened was the story of the lawyer who "body checked" a window and the window popped out of its frame, and he fell to his death. That was based on what happened to Toronto lawyer Garry Hoy. I have a friend who lives in Canada, whose aunt was a receptionist in that building when that happened, so I've heard the first-hand version of that event. A number of stories also fall in the "Plausible" category, like the violinist who wouldn't use her hands to break her fall as she tumbled down the stairs, and ended up breaking her neck. A lot of professional violinists have their hands insured, because that's their entire livelihood. Another one that's plausible is the gas station attendant who accidentally overinflated a truck tire so much that a piece of shrapnel from the rim (or more likely a piece of the steel bead of the tire) killed him. A third plausible story is the guy who poured a gallon of bleach into the toilet of a trailer home, and the reaction created a cloud of chlorine gas that killed him. I know enough about chemistry to know that could actually happen, and probably _has_ happened to somebody (although whether or not anyone actually died doing that, I don't know, but it's still plausible.) But no. All those deaths are NOT 100% real. In fact, a good percentage of them are made up from whole cloth.

@@SpearM3064 I was a bit surprised when 1kWTD not only covered whiskey baron Jack Daniel's death but actually covered it _accurately_ for a change. They called him "Jasper" in the segment (which was also accurate, since "Jack" was just a nickname and he was actually named Jasper Daniel) and, as it actually happened, he couldn't get into his safe one evening, so he grew angry and kicked the safe, which broke his big toe and jammed the toenail up into his flesh; an infection set in through his injured toe and he ended up dying from sepsis. The irony of his death, of course, is that he had _tons_ of whiskey in easy reach; repeatedly treating the torn flesh in his toe with whiskey would have killed any bacteria in and around his injury before they could invade his flesh and blood to take root and start an infection. His death was entirely preventable, yet he failed to do so. (And supposedly, his last words before he died were something along the lines of "Give me another glass of whiskey.")

From what I know, it did loose dramatizations that were usually vaguely based on true stories, but it's pretty clear that the show very often exaggerated the outcomes for the sake of drama, changed facts for the sake of setting up aesops, and sometimes strayed well into urban legend territory with the stories it chose to use (probably because it was hard to find sufficiently interesting real-life death stories in the time before Wikipedia's list of unusual deaths existed).

It's the weight of the needle and fins of lawn darts that make them deadly when dropping, idk if it would kill an adult under normal circumstances but they banned lawn darts in a lot of places during the 1980s because a 7 year old child was killed by one dropping from about 20 feet up into the top of his head, there was another incident like that that also happened in the 70s involving a 4 year old girl.

The way this Doctor code switched from hubby to doctor was hilarious.😅 Does he ever get confused? Like, they’re in the bedroom and he goes, “Ok, so doing that won’t actually damage the interior of that canal so you can trust me honey.” 😆🤣🤣

I would 100% LOVE to see more reactions to 1,000 Ways to Die. That series was one of my favorite as a teenager. It's a beautiful combo of morbid and hilarious at the same time lol..

Oh hey! I was internally decapitated too! It feels so interesting hearing about someone else going through it, and I'm happy your friend survived! It seems the way you're talking about them that they're not a vegetable, which is great! Can they still walk? Is it hard for them too? I know I can walk for a while but there are limits. Are they able to work or is it too hard physically or mentally or both? I know there are others who survive this, but in the nine or so years since, I've never heard someone mention someone who had it happen to, or even knew someone. I don't know why I feel some type of, idk,relief (?) from hearing this. I just know people either never hear about it or don't believe me. I guess I appreciate someone talking about it and spreading awareness about it since it's very uncommon, if not rare.

I believe lawn darts were actually discontinued because of deaths and injuries like that. Tips of the dart was heavy and metal.
