ER: Mark Greene and Doug Ross - last scene together

Mark & his best friend (and crush in my opinion) Doug are sitting by the frozen lake saying their goodbyes, sort of, as Doug is leaving for Seattle.
Notice the look they give each other. (=So in love~!)

I like the way Clooney departed the series! Even though he (Dr. Ross),and his colleague,Dr.Greene didn't get extremely emotional about it...you can tell they loved each other...like brothers!

okay i know you uploaded this 15 years ago but your description - exactly! i’m watching the show for the first time and cannot believe mark/doug isnt a more popular ship. i think if it aired today people would go crazy for it 🥺

The way Mark says, “doesn’t it rain like 300 days a year up there?”…it’s like he’s trying to convince Doug to stay, without actually saying it. He had earlier in this episode told Carol he was “done” with trying to keep Doug at County and going to bat for him. Something about the look on his face when he asked Doug about all the rain, and something about the tone of his voice when he says it, seems as if he was willing to re-think it. He was seeing his best friend/“brother” head off to the Pacific Northwest and he was telling him he was going to miss him while not specifically saying so.

so heartbreaking George had to leave.. I get him but damn, this episode was the worst of ER. I cried of hours and still do if I watch it again, it just hurts too much.

Dr Ross was a DAMNED good Doctor & he sure LOVED taking care of those children, but BOY, was he a PLAYER, (like his FATHER)!! But he DID care about Carol H.

Mark and Doug were so good friends, but we've not even heard about Doug and Carol, since she left, and not even when Mark died... sad...

We did not see them at the funeral, but that doesn't mean they were there. In episode 15x19 Doug asked if Susan was still at County. When Susan came back in Season 8 she had no idea that Doug and Carol left. Therefore, Doug must have seen Susan at the funeral and found out she was back. That right there is enough to tell me Doug was at the funeral and I am sticking with that.

glad he was there for carols last scene and too bad he couldn't return for marks funeral but at least he returned later

Great scene! Love this show. Especially the first 3 seasons and its last season was great too, everything else it did in between I could kind of take or leave because of the PC flower culture but to each their very own.

I didnt! I kept crying every season after that, I couldnt shake those great stories that came and went but I cant Watch season 8 without crying my eyes out when I get to greenes death!
