Hi, traction loss wins hands down. Surge adds more to braking and acceleration and also allows you to feel if you are bumped from behind, but traction loss is working away with ever turn of the wheel not just during slides. If I come alongside and start rubbing or pushing, you will feel that . It adds more information to your overall feeling than surge. But if/ when you can fit both, they compliment each other to make it feel more real. I already had a profile rig from sim race components ie static rig and then added the Eracing lab full build order and the extra profile. I ended up using very little of my original rig mostly due the the weight of the 45 thickness profile. As this rig was extra sturdy to allow a seat mover to be installed. Most of the profile was sourced from 2 company's in the UK I did go for extra sturdy again with the brackets it was around £1700 for the profile ,the brackets and the nuts with blots. The Eracing kit was around £2500 for the base kit and another £1000 ish for the traction loss and Surge. And since then I've added the belt kit, which is very good around £600 I think. Just of note now that the 32 in monitors are on they make a big difference to feeling like your in a car but they are alot heavier and are causing my hole rig to flex. So this is now the next thing to try to fix. Lol But overall I think its still very hard to beat Eracing labs kit for the money, if you don't mind building yor dream rig or like me don't have the funds to just order a shop built fancy one

Hi mate, just found your channel when searching for others with the eracing TL kit. I bought this recently myself and found that like you there’s a fair amount of slop in the rose joint. Was it just silicon spray that fixed it up for you? Also I found that the nylon casters appear to slide across the plates more than they actually roll, I’m also using the silicon to help them along but the balls don’t really want to spin, is that your experience too? Finally, how aggressive do you have the TL actuator set for rally/drift? I want to turn mine up but am a bit paranoid about the pivot snapping or something bad happening trying to pull g’s on the thing! Awesome build btw. Cheers

Hi thx Yes, I used heavy automotive grease on the rose joints it still makes noise but more like a sticky unstick sound rather than metal on metal. As for the casters I think one makes an attempt to roll the other one is now has a flat spot and has wore away the coating on the friction plate. I just spray some silicone on for now and it works ok for now. Setting wise I have the main movement slider on 18 and then adjust the max activation from 4 , 5 or 6 depending on the car to get the feeling right in sim racing studio. The main limitation is you spike filter settings as there's alot more movement in rallying than circuit racing and I hate it constantly cutting off on the stages, so have mine set very high in both Dirt 2.0 and even higher in Wrc. But that's me I'm not afraid to break sut to get the feeling that works out. 2 times the swivel mount has come loose on me. First time it was moving around, fixed with extra brackets to hold in place . Second time the other part came loose was me not checking it in my monthly check for loose blots and regressing up patrs. My opinion tune it to what you feel is good and enjoy, you have gone this far 😃

@@SimTime_RACING Thanks mate, I had a near catastrophe recently where the swivel mount came loose during play and shifted the pivot about 10cm to the left, threw the whole rig off the TL platform! I've done the same as you and added brackets now so it can't go anywhere. Was a bit worried after that the next thing will be it completely snapping or something. Thanks for the update re Thanos controller, I wasn't aware there were TL settings available now 👍You should have a look into Simhub's new motion implementation too, it's very good coming from SRS. Cheers

If you could only afford surge or TL at one time, which would you set up first? Where did yo get the profile from and do you have a rough estimate how much the TL platform would cost by itself and also how much it was for both for the profiles and brackets. I've got between £2-2.5k available at the moment and not sure what to go with.

Where did you get the new brackets from for corner and the connection on top of surge actuator? Thanks for details can do that now.

Hi I found them on ebay. The plate type bracket was expensive £25 each. I have one underneath aswell

Have you had any issues with your TL platform casters getting crunchy and shredding material out of them? They keep sending me new ones and they keep failing in like a month.

@StickNacyRacing Hi, yes, that doesn't sound right. One of mine has wore away and is flat spotted , but is still working ok and I would think they are a bit like brake pads on a car that need replacing at some point , due to use. I'm not trying to be funny, but just maybe the way you have set it up is putting more load of force into the casters. As we all build differently. With my rig I am sitting with the load fairly even on all 4 casters as I'm in the middle, but I know a lot of guys sit at the rear of their rigs which would put more strain on just the rear casters. Is there any video of your rig up that can view or pics, you can what's app me some photos 077965 44903 if that helps. Also just thinking with my build I have the monitors mounted onto my rig, and the new ones added like 20kg to the rig over the old 27s still all fine, the only small problem is with Wrc it keeps jumping the rig off the floor and moving it out off position lol 😆 and it is very heavy to put back in place needs 2 people.
