THIS SIM MOTION RIG FEELS ALIVE WITH 5 DOF

Sim motion rig update with Full 6 inch (150mm) travel on all for corners, with 5 Degrees of freedom (5DOF)and full rear traction loss. More videos will be done soon. Wait till i show you Monster Trucks in this beast.
The rig on top of the motion system, is Track Racer TR160 - V4 this sits on top of the motion system which is, ERACING-LAB RS MEGA PLUS It consists of 6 actuators, all with 150mm of travel. 4 of these are for the rig, and 1 is for the traction loss, and the other is for surge, front and back. That gives 5 degrees of freedom (5 DOF) There are 3 layers to the motion system. This consists of the lower traction loss, which on the ground, then the upper part of the traction loss sits on that. The 4 actuators are attached to the side of the surge part of the motion system. Then the surge part of the motion system, sits on the upper part of the traction loss. Then the Rig sits on top of the surge system on sliders. The actuators are run by the servo drives, which connect to a Thanos controller, which is seen in the video in the glass door cabinet. Each actuator has its own servo drive, (white boxes in cabinet, with red lights on) and they in turn, connect to the Thanos controller, which is connected to the computer. The actuators are bought as a kit, and the motion system is assembled yourself using aluminium extrusion tubing, which is bought locally wherever you maybe located. The four actuators on the rig, are able to lift up to 400 kilograms, including the rig itself, driver, steering wheel, direct drive motor, and any other accessories. These actuators have a speed of up to 250mm of travel, per second. check out eracing-lab.com/

Yes. There are better rigs out there, but don’t let that worry you. You can’t buy driving ability. I’ve been iRacing 14 years and still no good at it.

Is the motion from the rig filtered out of the VR? What is the point of the surge moving forward when you brake? Doesn’t that give a g-cue of a brief acceleration? Congrats on the rig!

Look great. Question, what AASD servo cabinet is that? Any requirements to mount those? Is it a std U rack cabinet? How if at all is it modified to hang the AASD controllers. Also what Length DSUB25 cables did you use in the cabinet?

Absolutely! That’s why settings used during video are quite low. Without seat belt tensioner operating, it could through you out of the seat. Thanks for your support.

You need a vr headset. Depth perception really give sense of speding. Monitor is just a moving picture

The setting in the Simracing Studio software, allows for that to be reversed.

Yes from Eracinglab. Surge actactuator well worth adding to any set up.This one I can highly recommend it can move you alot and quickly. Have the settings on the high side for fun and tone it down for racing.

You can reverse the surge in the settings. It takes a lot of experimenting. In the video setting we’re no where near maximum. The thing would through you out of the seat without a seat belt

Just a 49 inch curve 3840x1080 monitor- but it’s even better in VR
