Just another example of a fantastic book that didn't get the publicity it deserved because it got made into a shit ass movie. Some of the scenes in this film actually leave me shaking my head and saying what the hell were they thinking. Can someone in like 20 years remake Eragon and actually do it justice because I would love to see this book played out properly on screen

The book was really good, but it's sort of too similar to Lotr in my opinion Paulini took too much from Tolkein.

@@joshuadyck6361 I agree he took a lot from Tolkien (he admits it) but added a lot and changed it to his favor. Elves, Dwarves, and Humans (as well as Riders) have unique customs and personalities. Magic is extremely complex, and dragons are intelligent. There’s also different factions competing which adds to the intrigue. As someone who’s read both (LOTR being my first), I’d say they are very different, despite the obvious similarities Also the writing style is very different. Despite a fantasy setting with elves, humans, and dwarves (and war scenes) they don’t have much in common.

The books were amazing, so amazing. Best series I have ever read by 1000000 times. I love it so much I can’t put it into words, it makes me feel like I’m in the word. The amount of detail it goes into, the sheer wording of it, the battles, the ancient language, I’ve read the series twice now, and every time (SPOILER ALERT) every time Brom and Oromis die, I actually cry. Best series ever.

Looking back now, I can understand why pretty much every studio in Hollywood turned down the opportunity to make Lord of the Rings all the way back in the late 90s. There's no way they could have predicted that it could have turned out to be as amazing as it did because it had every chance in hell to turn out to be something very much like this movie and had Miramax refused to give Peter Jackson a chance to find a new studio and instead just fired him and hired John Madden to do one single movie for all three books, this trailer is what we would have seen that shit movie to be. Thank Eru Ilúvatar himself that New Line came to the rescue.

This blocks the potential for the subplot of murtagh swearing fealty to galbatorix and for thorn to be born. I believe it's shrewkan. Unless Murtagh did get capture in the movie...
