Anyone else thinking that the "I win Ivan I vanquish" is kinda like a sidebar to Veni Vidi Vici? ^^ Teach, Ivan was played by NicePeter, Lloyd was Frederick, Alexander was Zach Sherwin, who helps Peter and Lloyd with writing a lot of the ERBs and Pompeij is actually one of the producers of the ERBs, hence him not having any rap lines, Great reaction, as usual 👍👍

So, so much talent in this one. This is the way to do a multi-battle. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nice Peter IS a GREAT actor, at least in the way this battles need him to be. Epic Lloyd is a better rapper and this sometimes makes Peter parts seem understated, but man, the authenticity he brings to his roles... Also, a recognition to Zach Sherwin (Alexander the Great), who might as well be the unofficial third member of ERB (and is a permanent part of the staff) and always delivers some sick raps. Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz, Old Fritz...

For me Catherine the Great won it with the line "It takes a Russian to beat a Russian", which is a nod to the fact that the only country that could beat Russia is Russia. Of course in her first verse, she shut down Ivan so hard that he could only come back with the lame horse diss that she completely shut him down in her second verse and then closed the casket on him by saying "I'm not queen, Empress to Tsar 8, checkmate." I can see your argument for Frederick the Great and yes, right out the gate Old Fritz brought the fire, but to me Alexander the Great spat hotter.

Except Catherine wasn’t Russian, I explained that in my full breakdown and that line doesn’t work for me personally

Hi @TeacherEddieHistory. Let me be clear: I love your breakdowns. I am from Russia and because of that I often miss some things - i.e. almost all in "Jefferson vs Douglas". But that is not the point. The point is - you even know our history better then most of of us and it's very interesting to learn new facts from your comments. Thank you for your work, you returned my interest to history - I never thought it can be interested until your videos. Keep going!

I think authenticity award would have also fit very well for Pompey. His representation of his journey to Egypt was spot on. That would leave him tied for the win, without even doing anything more than saying his name. Very impressive.

You should listen to sabaton since they do A-LOT of history based songs like “Primo Victoria”, “Ghost division”, “defence of Moscow”, “Bismarck”, “The attack of the dead men”, “Uprising”, “Fields of verdun” , “Last dying breath” And so much more. Another band that I think you would like is called “citizen soldier” they do a LOT of mental health based songs like “Face to Face”, “Buried Alive”, “hope it haunts you” , “I’m not okay”, “would anyone care”, “devil inside”, “never good enough” and once again a LOT more

One subtlety that I dont think anyone has picked up on is the speculation that Catherine was very promiscuous with the guys. In this battle, when she decaps Pompey, pay very close attention to the shape of her Garrote handles.
@Selenkate3 жыл бұрын
Catherine: Literally cuts Pompey's head off Eddie: Deepest cut award goes to Frederick. Catherine: Am I a joke to you? Jokes aside I love the grading, I wouldn't be against giving two characters a point in the same category, especially in these battles with so many characters I feel like it's hard to really fairly judge them if only one person can win. For example if you got 5 characters and 4 of them do 1 thing really well and get a point, but one of them does everything well but falls just short in each category leading to an overall total loss. Not a big deal, it's all for fun, and I agree with all the scores given
@mcgigglefits98643 жыл бұрын
I think Pompey and Ivan should share the authenticity award. Because of Pompey’s short journey when he died. He was authentic in how fast he got killed off. 😂 and Vader VS Hitler would be awesome for the point system. Along with Deadpool VS Boba, Oppenheimer vs Thanos, and of course Pennywise VS The Joker.

Opinion question: Who do you think the single most important person in history is, and briefly (if you can) explain why? Love the content, and insights! Keep doing you. :) Edit: Rude of me to ask a question and not bother to answer it myself. For me, without question it's Augustus. He was far ahead of his time when it comes to policies, and even though he was a dictator, he tried to do best for the majority of his people. He also shaped the Roman Empire for nearly a century directly, and for its entire existence indirectly. Without him there would be none of the early emperors we know of today, and I think the Roman Empire would have fallen long before due to corruption, greed, and incompetence.

History question: what do you believe would happen if Alexander the Great appointed an heir to his empire?
@TeacherEddieHistory3 жыл бұрын
sounds like a homework question
@shadowyred62393 жыл бұрын
It will depend on how competent or incompetent Alexander's Heir will be, but regardless it would only delay the inevitable or just the meant downfall
@jacksmith-vs4ct3 жыл бұрын
I think depending on the person. there definitely still would have been some splintering but a larger chunk probably could have stayed together at least for a time.
@MrTrellheim3 жыл бұрын
According to the historian Diodorus, he did appoint an heir, it's only nobody understood (or wanted to understand) who he was refering too. On his deathbed he was asked to whom he gave his empire. He either answered "tôi kratistôi" (to the strongest) or "tôi Kraterôi" (to Craterus, one of his generals who had been given regency over Macedonia).
@davidharshman76453 жыл бұрын
Odds are, there would have been no change. Alexander's empire really wasn't established enough under his rule to have followers that would have respected his wishes after he wasn't there to enforce them anymore. Especially when it would be so easy to instead just...grab power for themselves.

As impressive as Alexanders part was, i don't think it fits into a rap battle which this is supposed to be. Maybe it's just me but at some time i though "Wow" and totally spaced out because i was thunderstruck. And even in the second and third time i needed subtitles to understand him. And honestly, as much as i hate to say this, but everyone should get an Authenticity point because i feel like they were all great in that regard.
