I was lucky enough to be in a school with a "Trust Teacher" (Teacher that has a degree/training in child psychology and helps kids with all sorts of issues) that helped me stay stable in school. i know of many my age that dont and got shoved in the deep end. Still i hated every second of school, i just became better in hiding it and scraping by in the tests. I aced topics that interested me, like history and crafts class, but in all the others i did barely enough to not fail. Funnily enough thats the reason i couldnt get a job for 5 years after school because of bs requirements for apprenticeships (B in math and physics for a car mechatronic for example).

I've returned to this video years later because, as a private tutor, I've used this song with high school students to write responses to and have conversations with me about, and I think this reaction is the best I've ever seen, actually understanding the meaning and intention instead of somehow just misconstruing the "don't stay in school" title. What kids have to say about this song is so incredibly impactful. As an educator, I can argue why certain topics are important to know even if they don't feel that way at the time... but the real genuine conversations that come out of using this song as something to write a response to with specific questions really opens up some very interesting conversations with a variety of high school students I work with.

Having recently returned to university for a degree in Secondary Education... I was incredibly disheartened with my professor's feedback on my last paper. The paper was supposed to be all about state standards and what use they have for educators. I ended up writing an essay that was pretty negative in almost every way about the use of the term "standards" and the way they're implemented in public schools. I was docked points for not writing about the importance of standards and instead only writing about the detriment they have to students. Kind of funny that having my own personal thoughts and opinions gets me a worse grade just because it's not what the teacher wanted ((KIND OF LIKE STANDARDS THEMSELVES))....

i like the expretion preasure turns coal in to diamonds. the thing is, there has to be heat, and the right preasure. wrong preasure, and lack of warmth will onely turn coal to dust!

this s the first vid of urs i see, so idk ur story. but in general, nd, espetialt adhd, ppl will very often have issues with foor. i have no idea if u have it, but there is a more comon in creatives, than in the general population. i also know jaden has adhd. it can be from a need for controle when u feel u have none, or just a hyper focus that turned to poison. oe on the other hand is often self regulation, food gives dopamin, bad foods give more. for me it was bulimia, so food for regulation, then get it, nd it felt like loosing it, also let me loose some weight off my sholders. i can say that if you have the chance to be medicated it can help. it does not fix it, it does not make it easy, but it can lessen the need. for me it changed it from an uncontrolable compoltion, to a really rough mental illness to go through when i had something else that was helping regulate me
