Erbauer 18volt impact driver repair

If you are like me and hate throwing stuff away if you think it can be repaired then you may find this interesting. I'm an electronics newbie but, if repair of this tool has been due to this new interest, then its been worth it.

I have the same drill set and recently the impact as lost a lot of it's power obviously will be a good few year's old now so could it just be the battery because it works fine just bigger screws it struggle's .

I'm wondering if I have a similar issue. I bought a eid-18 impact driver and drill set from a reseller of returns on ebay. The impact driver works for a few screws, but then will stop working for a little while when under no load before coming back to life. I've had it apart once and nothing obvious was evident, but I think I need it apart again with a multimeter, but will watch out for the heat sink too. Thanks 👍

Dry solder joint between the battery negative terminal wire and the first resistor (R302) causes this, it's down to the solder joint "drying out" over time and causing high resistance. Re-solder that and you should be good to go. See image for where to re-solder: i.imgur.com/oVkqfFq.jpg

@@mrdude2478 unfortunately the printed circuit board is covered in like a thick white rubber. When I take the drill apart and put it back together it works fine on test. But the first time I came to properly use it (after my first dismantle/reassemble) it then showed the same issue!

@@OlyLowe Remove the rubber, it peels off pretty easily (you can use a hot air gun on it to remove it if it doesn't or use acetone to dissolve it.). Just go around all the solder joints and re solder them all. That's all it can be.
