Does anyone teach rocking the wings back and forth 20 to 30 degrees to bleed off altitude anymore? It used to be part of the training, way back in the day.

I read the Ercoupe high sink rates if gets slow.

Below 70mph it sinks pretty quickly. I have yet to fly mine but everyone has warned me about it.

Which vertical card compass do you have? I'm looking for one for my Ercoupe. I hate the whiskey compass...it's accurate but verticals give you visual reference that the ball can't.

In the Ercoupe, what is your speed on final? I hear two different numbers. Some say 75kts and other 65kts.. or does it depend on the aircraft.

Yeah, the 415 loves to sink ... get below 60 and down you go elevator style.

Except you also cant slip it without the rudder pedal STC. I plan on getting both rudder pedals and the split elevator STC.

Originally not designed to feature rudder pedals, the plane cant control aileron and rudder independently, which means you cant correct a crab. So Fred Weick designed it to land in a crab, and use trailing link landing gear to absorb the lateral loads oj touch down.

You're right. The only actual engine out landings are done by gliders.
