blancolirio Hey there! A big shout out to Juan and James!!! Love that Ercoupe. My uncle had one in the 60’s no rudder pedals. I think he told me it was either difficult or next to impossible to spin. I recall the ailerons and rudder pedal were interconnected. I guess that would keep the ball in the center. Hey Juan, I’m the former AA’er with the Congestive Heart Failure. Is there any way to reach you to talk about medical and AME’s. I’m not sure how to get a hold of you. You can text me at 949.290.1065. See ya, Todd Alan

That gleaming Ercoupe is a thing of beauty and has become one of my favorite airplanes. To me, it's up there with the DC 3 and the deHavilland Mosquito, as far as aesthetics. The Ercoupe seems to be the embodiment of the style of its era.

It’s nice flying with Juan’s expertise because it’s a check ride even if you didn’t want one. You dare not mess up your landings and you greased the Mc Clellan Air Force Base landing, home, almost but good enough. Great job!! I think Juan really enjoyed the trip also and getting to operate the radios again and fly. It’s challenging when you fly with such a highly proficient pilot with so many type aircraft. Great pilots always want to discuss aircraft systems. Thank Juan for radios and charts, but you did a great job James as PIC with Juan critiquing your ever move. But it makes you a better pilot and we may never be perfect but we can always get better. Great video loved it!!!

Hi James, I first fell in love with the Ercoupe in 1971 at the age of 14. I rode my bike to Long Beach airport in SoCal and would climb inside one at a local aircraft broker. I would pretend to fly it. I received my pilots license at 19 but never got the chance to fly in one. The dream is still alive and I still can feel the yoke in my hands and the leather seats against my "bum". Thanks for your videos and great perspective. Cheers.
