(DE) Erding ist eine altbayerische Herzogstadt und seit dem 1. Januar 2013 Große Kreisstadt im gleichnamigen Landkreis im Regierungsbezirk Oberbayern. Erding ist ein Oberzentrum und Sitz des Landratsamtes des Landkreises Erding. Der Hauptort Erding liegt etwa 30 Kilometer in nordöstlicher Richtung vom Münchner Stadtzentrum entfernt und 31 Kilometer südwestlich von Landshut in der Planungsregion München. Ca. 10 Kilometer nordwestlich von Erding im Erdinger Moos liegt der Flughafen München.Durch Erding fließt die Sempt, ein Nebenfluss der Isar. Sie fließt in einem Bogen im Osten um die Erdinger Altstadt, die im Westen von dem von der Sempt abzweigenden Fehlbach begrenzt wird.
