The anime actually cut out a segment which should've been in episode 4 of S1 where Annie decides to teach Eren some of her moves and they have a genuine bonding moment. I just love that even though she isn't currently in the story, she still has a role to play. Keep in mind, Annie was ranked 4th out of all the Cadets and that was with all of her slacking off and not playing well with others. Had she put her all into training, she definitely could've been either 2 or rivaled Mikasa for 1.

One of my favorite scenes in the whole anime is when Eren does this motivational monologue and then immediately gets lit up! It breaks the norm of a character finding untapped strength. I loved it. It was much more realistic…as realistic as Titan monster could be

I will say, it was a betrayal for the scouts to find out about Annie.. but at least Annie intentionally tried to NOT get close to people. Whereas Riener and Bert made lots of friendships and then proceeded to utterly DESTROY every relationship and every moment they had with their "friends".

People forget but Reiner was like towards the very very top of the class outside of Mikasa basically, same with Berthold. They were great at everything. Including... Hand to hand combat, something Reiner emphasized Eden learn

this episode was absolutely amazing. this fight was so epic! and montana is really getting close to the truth with her predictions. i just love how eren used something he learned and remembered to trap reiner in that martial arts hold instead of just magically doing it out of sheer anger or determination or because he's the main character. when i first watched this i remembered thinking "this is reiner and bertholdt. the big brother of the group and the quiet kid." it's always the ones you suspect the least.
