My favourite reveal-hint moment is when Sasha hears the titan footsteps and then Nanaba comes in through the window saying titans are coming, and Reiner just turns to Bertholdt with a shocked face and asks _"Has_ the wall been breached!?". He's basically going "But if I'm here and you're here, then who destroyed the wall?" XD

The re-watch ability of AoT is so great because of how many of those tiny hints and subtle pieces of information that gets dropped in basically every single episode. Each time there is a new twist in the story that changes your perspective of the story, you can rewatch all the episodes up to that point and you will see and hear things that have a new meaning from what you thought of them before. Some things will be hints at things that didnt make sense at the time but now do, others will be coded language or things said with a double meaning you didnt notice the other half of. Its a genuine masterpiece of storytelling. Almost flawless from start to finish.

Reiner and Bertholdt (As well as Ymir, Historia, Connie, and Sasha) weren’t there during Annie vs Eren. They were isolated away from this because Erwin suspected one of the 104th being a Titan. Not even a full day has passed from the Annie fight to this fight. At the time Connie and Sasha found their village was around the same time Eren was fighting Annie.

@@officialswanii If you go back and rewatch the first 6 episodes of season 2 you will notice that every time they introduce a new character plotline to follow it notifies you of how long ago it happened or how long since the titan sighting that it happened. Pay attention to the time of day throughout those 6 episodes and the final episode of season 1. Eren's fight with Annie starts in the mid afternoon and by the end when Erwin is being debriefed, Eren is recovering and Armin & Jean are talking; the time of day has turned to dusk. S2E1 rolls around and the messenger arrived to alert everyone of the new group of titans sighted inside Wall Rose. It then rewinds time, showing events from the upcoming few episodes from Sasha and Connie's plotlines, as well as shots from the Annie v Eren titan fight as it goes. Then it sets up the other Scout Recruits from the 104th who are being kept in isolation, unarmed but under heavy guard. It is now early afternoon, if not late morning. The following episodes show each character's perspective of the rest of that day leading up to the various groups of Scouts and Scout Recruits searching for the breach in the wall as day turns to dusk and dusk turns to night. They end up at Utgarde Castle late in the night, possibly early morning when the titan attack begins. Meanwhile it shows Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Levi, and Hange's group setting out to find the group in the field and its night. When the Scouts finally arrive to save Ymir, Historia and the rest dawn is breaking. Then in episode 6 you see the sun is up and it is early morning. The whole first half of season 2 happens over a period of about 12-15 hours.

@@dave_the_melsave_creator Sasha was kept in isolation and unarmed with Connie, Ymir, Historia, Bertholdt and Reiner during the battle of Stohess between Annie and Eren. Once they split up to warn the nearby villages she is send north to her home and the local area she is familiar with. After rescuing the girl and reuniting with her father, we next see her deliver a message from Erwin to Hange's group. She was the only one of the Scout Recruits under suspicion who didnt end up going with the veterans to find the hole in the wall. The message she delivers to Hange is presumably the background information the military had on Annie, Bertholdt and Reiner. She is with Hange's group when they find out about Historia's importance to the chuch and is aware of the plan to find and capture Bertholdt and Reiner. In Episode 6 you can see she almost blurts out something that would have blown their cover, but Mikasa stops her in time and gives her a look. This is another reference to Sasha not being the smartest of the group, similar to her thinking Annie liking sweets despite not being cheerful is an important piece of information.

The funny thing was that while training with Eren, no one knew he was a Titan. Remembering Armin's words in the Forest of Giant Trees, Colossal and Armored did not breach the inner gate of the Trost, as they did in Shiganshina, because Eren appeared in Titan form and they were among those who saw him (their target had changed, which goes along with Rainer's words in the last episode).

For the Connie moment, he was with Reiner and Bert the whole time, so he wasn't there for when Hange and the others found out about them. That and he's kinda slow at times lol, he wasn't looking when they transformed.

I don't know if any one pointed this out yet, but this is something that stuck out to me my first time watching this show: Towards the end of Season 1, Annie says something about failing to become a warrior In episode 4 of season 2, Berthold says that Reiner used to be a warrior in episode 6 (called "Warrior") Reiner says he has to fulfill his duties as a warrior.

Trust me this show doesn't do reveals or twists out of the blue, everything has been foreshadowed and hinted from way earlier in the show. This show is amazing on a rewatch with just how much of the later reveals and twists are in your face from the start but you just don't have the information to pick up on them and make sense of. Don't worry there are still a ton of mindblowing twists and reveals for you to witness.

Remember when you watched the episode of the female titan attacking Armin. He came up with the idea of hiding their faces with the hoodies, so she couldn't tell who was Eren. You pointed out how that was a great idea. When Reiner was about to "attack" Annie, he pulled the hoodie off. Was curious if you were gonna notice, but there was too much going on at the moment. I didn't see it either until rewatching. 2 things this episode didn't go through and isn't explained later on. Isayama was asked who won the fight with Mikasa and Annie, he said they were interrupted by the head instructor. Second thing is the other person Bertholdt swallowed. It's just a random guy, Bertholdt wanted the 3D gear.

A mistake a lot of people make especially in the rest of season 2 is that they get so invested in their hate for Reiner and Bert that they kinda disregard literally everything they say as if it were all lies or unimportant. All I gotta say is make sure that no matter how much you dislike them now, make sure you listen and try to understand what they talk about cause it’s more important than you could think.

Connie wasn't at the briefing when they were told Reiner and Bert might be Annie's accomplices. From Connie's pov, they were all just chilling on the wall, and suddenly the Armored and Colossal appeared behind him. The reason they didn't inform Connie of their suspicions was just to try and keep it low profile until they could apprehend them. Connie is an emotional guy, and it would be safer not to tell him when he was around Reiner & Bert.

Yeah? That sucks, AOT is setting the bar really high for me then if other animes aren't translating as well. YES, you nailed it. I was actually shocked that I was tearing up and sometimes crying at scenes and I asked myself why I was doing that because that's NOT normal for me. And it's the music mixed with the passionate VA mixed with a gripping story all in one fell swoop. Gets me every time which is so bizarre cause I won't cry for things that should make me cry/ get emotional. @@officialswanii ​ Sadly, yes. AOT is one of a kind. There are amazing stories (Fullmetal Alchemist) and amazing animations (Demon Slayer) in other anime, but it's hard to find a show that peaks this hard on all of this and OST's & VA in one single place. Especially with action packed animes it sometimes borderlines into the ridiculous. One example is "One Punch Man", amazing fight scenes but the comedy there is "not my style", you can still enjoy it for what it is. I've watched anime for years. This one is special. 🙂 I'm sure that you'll find your own style and taste. There are a lot of good shows. Of course I'll check out your other reactions. 😊

Nice one! I’m seeing a whole lot of comments in here which you’d probably be better off not reading. Some overexcited people dropping certain episode numbers and character personalities which isn’t exactly an intentional spoiler but it does that job nonetheless. It would be in the best interests of us if the mods kindly remove them. Isayama is a fan of MMA fights too and he did a great job incorporating that into his work. And yes, although he’s the mangaka, the episode direction is not done by him. WIT Studios is responsible for creating such a good adaptation for this story. The staff really gave it their all. One thing I feel that I must praise you is the editing. The imagery, scene shots and the background voice all are in great sync and highly enhance viewer experience. It’s great that you do a callback to Episode 5 Bertholdt but great when we can see that shot on the screen while you’re talking about it. Really amazing! You probably missed my comment on 2x06, I guess. Was a bit late for that, unfortunately, although had been anticipating it a lot. Hope you read that too. Lastly, I feel like you’re enjoying AoT so much you forgot Demon Slayer lol. Crispy animations are going to come up pretty soon there too, so better keep watch! Keep up the good work!

A lot of people think that the trio knew Eren was (or was going to be) a titan, but given their shock and unqiry when they discovered his titan form, they didn't know. Ironically they've taught eren to counteract them.

The most important advantage of this story is that Isayama initially thought through the entire plot and ending of the entire anime . There are a lot of hidden messages and hints about further events in the openings and endings (similar was in Gravity Falls). The beauty of the attack of the Titans is that after very unexpected plot twists , when watching the anime again , many characters are perceived differently . There will be 5 moments that will break your perception and your attitude to what is happening : 1x8 , 2x6 , 3x20 , 4x20-4x21 , and the final episode of the entire anime
