I have nearly finished lining the outside walls of my seaside cottage with Wallrock thermal liner & Wallrock liner. Immediately the cottage is much, much warmer even after turning the storage heaters down! The windchill from the gale is gone & the noise of the roaring wind is much reduced. The liners & glue are all easy to handle & I am absolutely thrilled. I have no connection to the makers & simply found the product on the net & read the good reviews. Recommended unreservedly!

Just had a go with this today, have cavity wall insulation but figured with sky high racketeering fuel prices every little helps, if you think you are pretty good at wallpapering this stuff is next level it is very tough to cut so make sure your tools are razor sharp or brand new, dont think this stuff will solve all your problems and if you are serious about insulation then a 25mm or 50mm insulated plasterboard will be infinately superior to the 3mm you are getting here but on the flip side infinately more messy. Usual quality from Wallrock who make some very good products.

A superb product this - we used it in a childs bedroom which was badly affected by mould and we are very happy with the results. It should be noted that it is trickier than regular wallpaper to hang and cut! But well worth the extra effort

Funny video funny comedy music to match perfectly and I really like the way the actor trips over the bucket at the end and laughs I enjoyed this presentation it’s not perfect but life has its issues so iam adding some professional advice Ok at the very least this does tell you to hang the white side facing up a simple fact neglected in the included instructions Now you may think I am putting this product down however I am not it is actually a very good product and as a professional I would like to give some advice that is completely left out of the comedy video production. Firstly, there is no way you could hang the paper as shown It is vital to cut your lengths the day before leaving them overnight laid out flat. If you do not do this, the roll will be fighting you all the way as obviously it has been tightly rolled like a memory spring wanting to spring back to its coiled shape rather than conveniently be hanging down, it is very easy to crack the material if you neglect this first extremely important bit of advice. If you do have any cracks I would advise filling them the day prior with filler If you do wish to fill with the adhesive, don’t mess around with a brush use a flexible filling knife prior to pasting the wall. Obviously preparation is almost always vital. Make sure you remove any traces of mould and mildew with an antibacterial wash which basically is bleach mix with hot soapy water. Don’t use a spray antibacterial solution unless you are wearing a high quality mask filter. My father was a master decorator back in the 60s, no mask protection whatsoever was advised leading to extremely poor and sometimes devastating health problems.RIP Dad Give the wall a light sanding down to remove any rough surface particles when dry vacume away dust I cut with a brand new snappy knife and straight edge although scissors will do. After the jobs done leave to dry 48 hours I would then advise lining or cross lining the wall prior to painting to add a layer of protection especially if you have kids or pets as it’s a fragile surface prone to scuffing and is a reason I would apply the product with a wall peppering brush not a plastic tool as shown in this video unless you are a pro and confident you will not catch the delicate paper surface Good luck take your time and one last tip use a roller tray please comedy is not for the workplace. Would I use this product in my home? Answer Certainly if applied properly it is a perfect product for solving cold wall condensation Far better than cavity wall insulation that can actually make the problem far worse especially in older properties with varying cavities

An absolutely FANTASTIC job & video. I've just ordered this thermal liner. Can't wait to this myself

I'm no expert, but I've heard - and it makes sense to me - that the second layer should be laid at right angles to the first. And if not, it's absolutely definitely a bad idea to lay papers of the same widths over each other with the edges coinciding. Where is the info on the thermal conductivity?

We get our technicians to apply this to problematic properties where the occupants have suffered mould, damp and condensation problems. Works brilliantly, and is more cost effective than applying 200mm+ thermalboards and all the hassle removing skirting, sockets, rads etc. @Charlotte - we would still have used accoutic board to reduce outside noise if it was that bad, sounds like wallrock has worked a treat on your cottage though. Easy to paint, plaster and apply wallpaper afterwards.

I actually think the music is great - nice and quirky! Better than the normal cheesing stuff I reckon!

I'm curious to know why this was not cross lined? Surely that is the way it should be done if a decorative wallpaper is going over it? I'm a professional decorator and I would be thrown off a site for hanging lining paper horizontal

Can I apply limewash directly onto the thermal liner?

Flat wall work appears to be straightforward. Is this any good for doing walls with windows that have a 100mm reveres? If so how is it done?
@ICEcleaningexperts12 жыл бұрын
Agree with you John - tray instead of shoving roller into tub!! If you get out a box knife why not use it to cut straight lines along edges and not use scissors!!
