One thing I have found out by experience. These rolls are heavy. You need to use a good thickness of paste otherwise it just drops off. Pasting the wall and the insulation is in my opinion the best way of working. 🤔 Don’t try fixing below 10C

Just a question re your comment about sealing using a vinyl paint before papering. Wall rock state not to wallpaper over this without lining it with the fibre liner due to warmth and cold expanding and contracting showing gaps in the paper. Will your comment about sealing with paint do the same job?

Likewise the top piece patched in the upper reveal above the window where it meets the paper on the wall above? Can't think hardstop filler on an external corner will work will it? Excellent video! I have a question please. We have some rooms with wood chip paper. Apparently the Wallrock thermal liner is suitable to simply be used over the wood chip wallpaper without having to remove it first. Would you agree with this and is this advisable to do? Our wood chip paper is in very good condition and extremely well attached to the walls, so if we can use the thermal paper directly over it then it would be fantastic.

I am a painter and decorator and would never advise to paper over any older wallpaper. The only time I would hang additional paper is if I lined and papered or cross lined and papered as the paste/paper will all be hung within a few days. The paper that is in place may be nice and tight currently but as soon as paste is applied to the top of it, the moisture of the paste and then followed by paint can reactivate the paste making the paper become loose because the paste is old. I know its a paint but I would strip off. Use masking tape and light weight plastic on the skirts/floor to catch water and paper. Use a hedgehog to score holes in the paper, an industrial scraper to remove the top layer and either hot soapy water with a sponge or a good steam stripper not keeping the paddle in the same spot for too long as it can blow the plaster. Once paper is fully removed unattach masking tape (carefully if not repainting) and roll plastic up with all paper kept in the middle. Nice a clean finish just make sure your footwear is cleaned off before walking away as the grips hold the wet paper and paste in place.

I love the way you demonstrate paying great attention to detail. These tips were particularly helpful to me: The angle you held the bradawl and pencil in the corners to ensure a neat joint. That you let the strip dry above the window reveal before trimming. Question: As you are papering over this Wallrock thermal lining paper why are you hanging it vertically rather than horizontally. Thanks.

Thanks, it worked out better to do it this way. With this thermal lining paper your better hanging in large pieces. If I'd hung it horizontally it would have been more difficult around the windows.
