He doesn't have to hit that one, it is to activate his energy and the accuracy of the song is not affected by whether or not he hits that note. It is better to miss that one and land the other to save your streak, than it is to activate it for a boost to scoring. You can save your energy for a later point in the song and have it last longer.

I know what you mean. But it's mostly about the finger technique, basically you don't even use your wrists, or your arm muscles. Of course some drummers do it like that, but this is "more professional", and your hands don't get tired.

I played rock band for two years before I decided to play real drums. There is no way I could ever have done anything on drums without having played rock band as much as I did. I'm by no means a good drummer, but I'm far superior better just any random person. I had no issue going from rock band pads to cymbals.
