CapnRiggs2k5 I know when guitar hero came out I had to get real drum sticks because the ones that came with it were to light and the pads where not registering it, it helped a ton. never really got good at it but was decent.

Though I respect your old school sensibilities and am by no means a deathcore fanboy, I KNOW the guys in this band, they are local for me and are all outrageously talented musicians. Just because you can't understand it doesn't mean it's random. Again, no hate all love. Just wanted to say my piece :)

I respect your opinion, and understand that this sort of thing isn't in everyone's taste. However, there is talent in the songwriting, the instruments aren't always the most technical on guitar/bass, but in terms of writing a song, there is more variety and technical know-how going on than one might think. Plus, playing fast blast beats like this takes a lot of stamina, even more so on a real drum set than on a Rock Band one. As for the vocals, they're there to set a menacing, darker tone. Death growls are really good for writing much darker, sinister music. There's also techniques to do them without destroying your voice, though not every growler/screamer uses them (I've heard a few stories of singers who had to stop doing harsh vocals due to throat damage). Again, it's all a matter of opinion, and I understand this type of music isn't for everyone. Just thought I'd provide a counter-point, is all.

Side note: I find playing stuff like this far easier on a real drum set than on a stock Rock Band kit. The way a stick bounces on a proper drumhead can't be matched on the cheap rubber and plastic shit that Mad Catz puts out, which requires far more deliberate individual force to be given to each hit especially on these fast blast beats.

Red note = snare Yellow note = high tom Blue note = mid tom Green note = low tom Green cymbal (Circular note) = crash Blue cymbal = ride (or open hat accents in some cases) Yellow cymbal = Hats And some other things are usually blue cymbal or yellow cymbal is certain circumstances (like cowbell) So your previous comment's talking about *you* right?
