I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid! One of my favorite parts was the opening of the fortune cookie...I always wished I could be one of his special guests joining him at the table so I could eat what he made!!

I had just bought a satellite dish and was getting channels from everywhere. My wife and I loved this channel.we would laugh so hard. We bought one of his woks. That was 45 years ago. I’m glad I found it on KZbin. Still a great show.

This brings back memories of watching this on cbc in the early 90s and going to Vancouver's Chinatown on a regular basis, so beautiful, prosperous, incredible food and the best people you could meet. A terrible shame what has happened to a once vibrant neighbourhood.

I miss watching this show. This was my favorite cooking channel and really admire Stephen Yan because of his humor and expert knowledge of chinese cuisine. Funny thing is no one knows of his whereabouts from the time he retired in show business. Does anyone know where he is now?

I love this guy. I was cracking up. And he actually is a good cook but I love how he just has fun with it. We could all learn alot from him. Have fun in everything you do, otherwise you will take yourself too seriously and become too critical of everything. And the mean vein of all of it comes down to love. No one is perfect even if the world demands perfection. And then that leads to the question what is perfection because what the industry standard of perfection is isn't actually perfection, but rather it is generic and uniform. There is no such thing as perfection when it comes to human standards of excellence. Which isn't a bad thing because that means we all have an opportunity to improve.

For some odd reason, I don't miss the "self-addressed stamped envelope" culture of the pre-digital age. OMG, as a kid, I drove my mom crazy. "What do you mean you need TWO stamps?" That's back when postage was only $0.20, and it was STILL considered expensive.
