Ive used so many different monitor arms in my lifetime, and angry that i never spent the extra money for an ergotron till now. The action on it is so smooth, while simultaneously being absolutely rock stable. Only thing i wish if there was a way to use the tilt lock from behind rather than having to remove the bracket. I prefer having it locked but once in a while i like to put my screen into tate mode for shmups.

most i like its reach of 80cm. only thing i do think could be improved is the tilting. i was tempted to mount it high on the wall to move the monitor out of the way when not used, or use it in a high position tilting down. tilting down 5° did not allow such a configuration. also, i tried to mount a lighter monitor with a weaker backplane with the vesa mount, and tilting it fully down nearly broke it. would be nice if one could configure the tilting a little lighter.

Tightening or loosening the screw on 00:56 doesn't do anything for me.... My monitor is stuck in top position, that joint can't be loosened. Is there a way to fix it or is it a faulty unit?

Maybe someone here can help me. I just finished installing my Ergotron monitor arm yesterday, to which I installed a Wacom Cintiq 16 weighing around 4.2 pounds. While I immediately noticed how fluently the arm moves around my desk space, I am concerned with how stiff the front most joint is (the one that controls the tilt of the monitor). Even at its loosest setting I find it very hard to tilt the monitor downwards from its angled position. I just want to know if this is something that will improve over time.

Hi Gabe-the Wacom Cintiq 16 weighs 4.2 lbs, which is below the supported weight range for our LX Desk Monitor Arm (7 - 25 lbs). This is could be why the tilt pivot is not adjusting smoothly. You could try applying a light lithium grease to the tilt joint to see if that helps.

Having the EXACT same concern and that's why I'm here. I feel like I'm about to break my iMac each time I try to change the tilt. That's freaking scary. If you don't mind let us know if you tried the " light lithium grease " thing and if it worked please. By the way, I don't see if you noticed but in the video even the demo guy put the monitor in portrait before even trying to change the tilt in order to have a better grip (I think). That says a lot.

Hi, i do have the same problem . And with its 7.2 lbs my Dell UltraSharp U2414Hb should be at least at the lower end of the range. Also when i try to lift the monitor up i pop almost pop the upper arm from the lower part so my Monitor almost drops. Like this the arm is just an expensive and bulky alternative to the standard stand apart from this the product makes a good impression and i would be really happy getting help with this problem.

yea it's a bit of a learning curve but to adjust the tilt you gotta spread the force over all of the cintiq instead of just tugging at the sides by holding your entire arm over it while rotating. Won't say it's the healthiest for the cintiq but I've been using my cintiq 16 like this for a couple years now and there's no sign of any damage

No one is really explaining the arm lift tension part. Is a screw needed or not. My driver does not appear to meet anything that can be screwed inside that hole in the neck

0:43 - is it normal for this tilt adjustment to be so so heavy and stiff at first? I mounted my 6kg monitor to it and couldn't bring it down to save my life, felt like I was going to break my monitor even though the tension is set to its lightest update: all is well, just had to use more force

Thanks for the update! So you mean to say it’s simply supposed to take more force to tilt it? I suppose that makes sense, so that the arm doesn’t tilt down by the weight of the monitor itself

Just purchased one of these. I did notice that there is very little padding on the clamp portion of the arm that attached to the desktop. I am concerned with the clamp potentially causing damage to the desktop’s finish - would you suggest using any type of padding like a foam or rubber insert? Any recommendations?

Maybe a stupid question, I'm trying to mount the Dell U49DW19 and I do not understand how to use the extension arms of the VESA Mount correctly. At least it looks very different to the guide. I would have the extension arms on TOP of the standard mount and not below. Any help?

I’m not very happy with this product. The monitor tilt does not have the same fluidity it does in the video and the plastic cap that covers the first joint connected to base does not fit. I want a refund.

Hi Valfred - we’re sorry to hear that your LX Desk Monitor Arm is not performing as expected. One suggestion we have is to decrease the lift strength in the tilt mechanism. Depending on how it is adjusted currently, this may help your monitor tilt up and down more easily. Please see page 10 in our installation manual for instructions on how to do this: bit.ly/3gAbjwM For the plastic cap that covers the joint between the LX arm and extension, it should click into place when pushed. If you are having difficulty pushing it into place, gently tapping it with a rubber mallet may help.
