When I started watching this show, I was immediately hooked by how random and unpredictable it was. Such a good show

1:37 literally only one single man in that image is a consistently fantastic talk show host. Conan is the man, his smile shines so much brighter than everyone elses

Yeah, I wish they included Craig Ferguson and Letterman

Great insights. I feel like his sort of comedy is disregarded as easy or cheap, you proved it's more than that.

Do you think that Eric Andre show being for adults is a pinnacle for it and is it possible to take his style and entertain children?
@christopherlyndsay8611 Жыл бұрын
Eric Andre show depends on subversions, and since everything is new to a child, subversions don’t work. Just like how if you’re sarcastic to a child, they most likely won’t understand

I haven't watched the show, but I believe I can explain the poor reception if there is any actual "genius" to it. It came out after the Adult Swim meltdown on Cartoon Network. When they just allowed anyone with a camcorder to put a show on as long as it was free. Random BS, no matter how well it is done, no matter how elegant the execution, was easy to lose in that avalanche of BS. I can't count the number of times I've stopped on a show for five minutes and said to myself "Oh! This is just random BS! I'm already bored." The reason a show like Robot Chicken or Rick and Morty succeed, is cartoons, by their very nature, must be crafted. Thought goes into labor for every cell of the animation. The jokes, timing and delivery are crafted from the mind itself. Handing a camcorder to morons is cheap TV.
