There were numerous questions about Eric Avery's return to Jane's Addiction (2008-2010). This interview is limited to those questions and answers. One long interview in segments, for easy consumption.

Now that Eric is back in Jane's, the band should hook back up with Trent, Atticus and Alan Moulder in the studio and make a new album happen. A decade older and hopefully a decade wiser. No fragile egos please. And by all means, NO girlfriends, wives or miniature dogs allowed in the writing, recording or rehearsal sessions.

no problem, it's a long interview. eric is basically explaining the issues encountered during his return. he didn't want to cover other subjects at this time, or i would've asked. it's worth a listen, maybe not all at once. ha ha.

Eric wanted each section to be under 15mins, so we did the interview in 15min segments. that is why he is asking, how are we doing on time.

I have never hear this guy before.I only got to know JA (visually) in the last few years. I would like to ask if anyone knows whether this guy is the subject of JA's 2011 song "End to the lies"?

Hes trying so hard to be somewhat civil and holding back thats its consuming his energy and fluidity .

Eric was very generous with his time. He asks "How we doing on time?" as in "Am I finished? Can we go now?" But the interviewer goes on for 8(!) more parts! This is just the halfway line! I'm tired just from listening.

i think it is sad how many people are drawn to perry and see eric as the asshole who caused all the problems throughout the years. both eric & perry are at fault because the problem is shared, but eric doesn't get enough credit. he really is focused on doing something completely new and pushing the band forward, where as perry would rather sit and do jane says or mountain song twenty times over.

Without Perry this guy wouldn't be pontificating about Perry'z two day dry spell ....I get Eric's roll in creating the original vibe but anyone who writes music knows how stuff works?...Like "put out Perry" ...Trents here ...produce amazing shit Perry?...Perry has put out crap in his life but Eric is in no position to judge Perry'z creativity ...Eric's recent output is electronic blips and touring with Garbage 😡
