Yah, so he could have held onto the briefcase for a while or failed to cash in, all the while not being considered for a title match for the Intercontinental title or US title. Why do people think that having the briefcase means you’re instantly elevated? How often has that actually been the case? Are you less of a fan of his now? Punk wasn’t “playing hero” he was just being Punk. They have a petty rivalry and this is peek levels of that. There’s no “heroes” here. Just two people that HATE each other.

I don't think it was that priest was supposed to kick out at 2. I think that McIntyre's music cue was supposed to hit at the two count to interrupt Seth winning the title and it was late. I notice after that spot nobody in the ring looked happy. Also, it's nice to see somebody Eric's age that is still willing to learn things. That's inspiring
@RavenGlenn
@RavenGlenn 7 күн бұрын
While this was obviously the case, everyone involved is guilty. The wrestler who isn't supposed to lose HAS to kick out just incase. The ref HAS to count to three if the wrestler hasn't kicked out. And the person handing all the sound for the night needs to be suspended/fired. Audio was a mess from the preshow and killed that entire angle.

Chad was amazing. I really saw the skill of Solo and he too can wrestle. Yes he is no Jacob but why shouldn't he be a Star himself and have skills look at the family he is from. Weird to see the men MITB winner lose the case the same night. Nice to see Cena n Punk the same evening. Always nice to see KO. Yeet culture is off the hook in and out of the ring. The WHC match botch was like three botches in one. First, the production team failed to play McIntyre's music at the right moment. Second, when McIntyre's music didn't start, Priest could have kicked out. And third, after no music and Priest didn't raise his shoulder, the ref should have counted to three, but he was trying to save the planned finish at all costs even when it didn't make sense.
@josephcooke4678

The bottom line is that the referee has to do his job which is to make the three count if the wrestler does not kick out. Maybe he needs to go back down to NXT and practice being a referee. We can only assume that there was supposed to be music, but we see the referee stop doing his job

What you guys fail to realize that the Referee was likely only doing what he was told to do in his earpiece ..... Matches these days are controlled from the back via the referee especially on TV when they need to make a scheduled commercial break. If he had counted to 3 then they'd have to put the belt on Rollins and that would completely ruin the storyline they were trying to set up and that was to have a reason for Rollins to get involved in the feud with Drew and Punk because now Seth is pissed he no longer has a shot at the belt. Plus they'd also have to disband the Judgement Day ..... Better to screw up one match that screw up your booking for the next 3-6 months
@coachvictor_game
@coachvictor_game 7 күн бұрын
@@longjohn526 It doesn't work that way. Referee must count as a shoot if everything goes wrong and that's something they learn. Then they play an audible on the spot and come with something to give sense to the moment and the best possible outcome. And then they swerve the storyline if needed. That's how it's done in wrestling.

@georgen5882
@georgen5882 7 күн бұрын
With all the interference they had in Bloodline matches I honestly want them to cool it with interference for a while. It was good back in the day when it was used properly. Right now it's waaay overused still. I don't like the argument that it's a heel thing and they do it all the time. Too much makes it predictable, like every Roman match for the past two years including WM40. And Punk can't even wrestle for 15 minutes right now, so him being a physical force is off the table and has been for a long time. The mind games part of I'm fine with, but I hope Drew wrecks him at one point. They won't do that because people love Punk too much, but I wish they would. I honestly don't see the appeal of him anymore.
@mikelarkin6697
@mikelarkin6697 7 күн бұрын
@@georgen5882 yup. Heels shouldn’t necessarily just be cowardly. Another aspect is total ruthlessness and extremely powerful beat downs. In fact, Reigns was so powerful in theory that Bloodline interference should have been a last resort rather than fairly routine. RE: Punk, I missed his run, but apart from mic skills he seems quite lackluster. His MMA record also takes away all his credibility - he was dreadful!

The HHH stans think this is long-term storytelling, and that critics are being "short-sighted" for not allowing their intelligence to be insulted by this PLE. Don't get me wrong, i don't think he's incompetent, but it's silly that fanboys refuse to admit that HHH is capable of dropping the ball from time to time like any other booker. He's wasting younger talent for a feud involving an old, injury prone Punk. In what world does that make perfect sense?

Also, people paint Gunther as being an anointed man. He is a very good wrestler, but I find it weird to hang a major belt on him rather than McIntyre, who is so much more entertaining as a character. Gunther’s loss would have been better served as spurring a crisis of confidence and reflection in him rather than just a way to sprint back him up to the world championship level. I find it bizarre such a character would not want revenge on Sami. Would be like Federer or Djokovic just shaking off defeat to some wildcard in a major final.

I agree that this PLE was “meh”… first couple matches were good… then it fell apart, for me, with that Priest/Rollins match … mainly cuz as a casual fan, I don’t see Priest as a major champion? I don’t understand why he’s in that position.. his mic work isn’t good and neither is his in ring stuff, in my opinion.. he reminds me of Test from the attitude era… good mid carder but you wouldn’t put at the top.. then the women’s MITB match.. man.. brutal, sure but botches out the wazoo! Botchamania is going to do an entire episode on this one PLE itself! Plus the ladies, while they’re great individually, were telegraphing every move… then the last match… was ok… I think everyone is ready for the new bloodline v Roman Reigns angle… and they had a botch or 2 that match including, in my opinion, the ending sequence where Cody had Solo setup for the 3rd crossroads and stood there waiting for Fatu to run in from behind, sprint to the adjacent corner in front of him, then Cody dropped Solo and just took the hit from Fatu? It looked awkward and majorly contrived… we all know wrestling is “scripted” in a way… but we get around that by not telegraphing moves right? We can suspend disbelief so far.. but your top champions standing there awaiting something for 10-15 seconds is weird… it made Cody look dumb… he should’ve countered that given the time he had to see and react… overall grade, for me, a casual, is a C.. I’ve watched all since and including Mania40 and this was easily the worst of all… and you’re both wrong about the crowd.. they were stale and cold… that’s why you had Cena try to pump them up and then Trish again tried to right after the women’s MITB…

Several missed opportunities, especially in the men's MITB match, maybe an interference spot to progress a story line. But, overall it was a good PLE. From this WWE can have Bron go on a bigger rampage and set up another match for the IC belt at Summerslam. Tiffy time is here. Punk now has another feud waiting in the wings with Seth. Priest can now focus on Gunther and perhaps split from Judgement Day.

Start with Angle if possible as he was his first with Ruthless Aggression, then Orton, his development colleague and main WWE nemesis, and then Carlito and then Punk and then AJ, and then KO, and then Austin Theory and make it a way better redemption match for them both and Jey, and Jacob Fatu and then Bronn

Yeah I gotta disagree with Eric on this one. Predictable? Sure. Awesome In-ring work, hot crowd, and great stories. Thought the first hour or two was the best wrestling we’ve gotten since Mania.

Something that's really impressed me about the money and the bank PLE was really interest the one that really impressed me is the young Talent from developmental Tiffany Stratton Braun breaker ELO dragon off stepping up their game I mean Tate Tiffany Stratton for starters what does she want her money in the bank contract Tiffany Stratton stepped up to Trish Stratus and she took a cheap cut promo on her daddy's called stepping on toes so were the elements that impressed me the most of money in the bank I would love to hear Eric bischoff and opinion on what I've just said

Off topic, but did anyone ask Jeff Jarret if he thought it was a good idea for him to win the Owen Hart tournament? Does he think he can main event All In London?

The fact Jeff Jarrett is still wrestling is embarrassing. Wrestled for 40 years, hit a thousand people with a guitar. Never drew a dime.

The matches had great spots but a lack of good story telling. Numbers were good. I'm always excited to see NXT wrestlers get their chance and excel on the main roster. They all looked like they weren't really thrilled with the show afterwards. Mr. Bischoff, I'm saddened that your appearance in Queens has been postponed. You must be so busy. But I saw that it was reposted for October. Is this true? Can't wait to meet you if so? Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. You are a great landmark in professional wrestling.

They had a few more botches than normal, but I think it was overall a good show. The woman's match started slow but picked up. Kudos to Chelsea Green for that bump, and everyone who took a bump on the ladders.

Hey Eric, thank you for answering my question about the camera shots on a previous video. It truly made my day to have you call my name which is my actual legal name 😊 paid to have it changed during the lockdown in the pandemic. I'm assuming you've answered this in a different question of similar style but my question this time around is in regards to wcw's financial area. I know during the merger that executives didn't want WCW on their portfolio anymore however as you shared and have had many others have said the company was making money hand over fist especially between late 96 to mid to late 98. Surely during the merger these executives would see that revenue pouring in and see it as nothing but a green flag because it's disposable income for Turner and AOL as a whole to go to separate divisions. so why was the excess revenue not a factor to them when companies obviously want to make as much money as possible? It kinda feels like a personal bias caused the initial slope and decline in faith of the product and ignoring all that money generated just to ditch wcw in spite rather than a business desicion.

I hate passing of the torch as much as I hate tag teams breaking up and having matches ( the Hardy’s, edge and Christian, the USOs). It’s such a lazy take and lazy booking style. It’s fanboy booking. I’m with Eric, Cody already had the torch.

Good show. McIntyre's music was supposed to hit at that 2.5 count. The guys in the truck missed it. Bad screw up. Otherwise, Punk screwing Drew continues their story. People who don't like it or don't understand it don't see the big picture.

I think the show was kind of lame. There was no women’s championship match so no chance of a cash in there. And the timing of Drew’s cash in made him look dumb. I usually love Money in the Bank but this year didn’t do it for me. Also, I heard they asked fans to wear white shirts for some reason but nothing came of that. Even green shirt guy had on white. Maybe it was just to get him to stop wearing that ugly green shirt.
