Raspberries were an American pop rock band formed in 1970 from Cleveland, Ohio. They had a run of success in the early 1970s music scene with their pop rock sound, which Allmusic later described as featuring "exquisitely crafted melodies and achingly gorgeous harmonies." The members were known for their clean-cut public image, with short-hair and matching suits, which brought them teenybopper attention as well as scorn from some mainstream media outlets as "uncool"
Fuertemente influenciados por grupos de la invasión británica - especialmente The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies y Small Faces - y su sensibilidad mod, fueron pioneros del estilo power pop, sus más conocidas canciones incluyen "Go All The Way", "Let's Pretend", "I Wanna Be With You", and "Overnight Sensation".
라스프베리스(Raspberries)는 1970년대에 왕성하게 활동했던 미국 출신의 파워 팝, 팝 록, 록 밴드이다. 대표곡은 "Go All the Way", "Let's Pretend", "I Wanna Be with You", "Tonight", "Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)"이다.
Seu maior sucesso foi "Go All The Way", atingindo a posição #5 nas posições da revista Billboard.
The Raspberries était un groupe de power pop américain, formé en 1970 à Mentor, dans l'Ohio. Le groupe fut fortement influencé par The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies et The Small Faces. Certaines de ses chansons ayant connu un grand succès aux États-Unis sont Go All The Way (du premier album Raspberries), Let's Pretend et I Wanna Be With You (du deuxième album Fresh),Tonight (du troisième Side 3) et Overnight Sensation (Hit Record) (du dernier album, Starting Over) et connurent une grande popularité en leur temps.

R.I.P. Eric Carmen. Legendary song and band, and part of the soundtrack of classic rock and youths worldwide. I was 12, and even though I could only blast my music through a small red colored Panasonic transistor radio and a Sony clock radio, it was pure MAGIC! That era was unsurpassed for great music!

I had the same red radio! Paid $8 for it at Walmart. Had the one white earphone that I used to listen to The Big 89 WLS on out of Chicago until I fell asleep. I lived 500 miles South down in the Arkansas Ozarks. Still do.

Thanks for sharing! The irony was we had incredible music back then, but many couldn't afford stereo systems, or anything 'hi-fi'. Now, you can listen to music streaming on your smartphone with ear buds and good fidelity, on the cheap.@@ericelander9936

Thanks for sharing! Those small Panasonic transistor radios came in several colors, from what I can recall. AM radio was huge still, since full sized solid state stereo systems (receiver and speakers) were still expensive, and the less expensive brands were just starting to go for sale (Onkyo, Toshiba, Sony, Nikko, etc.). FM radio really took off around this time too! @@ericelander9936

It's 10.30pm Tuesday night 12/03/2024 and I've just flicked the T.V. over to Ch 9 in Sydney. They were showing The Raspberries "Go all the Way" I thought "Why are they playing that?" "Is Eric touring soon?" Then I thought "Oh no he hasn't died" "Has he?" My fears were confirmed by the news voice over person. "Eric Carmen was 74" Now I can't stop crying. Not only did Eric help create one of the greatest, mind blowing Guitar riffs in Rock history, he then composed some of the most tasteful Ballads of all time. Good quality Ballads are extremely hard to write. Thanks for the great music and the brilliant singing voice Eric. Eric lived a successful existence and died peacefully in his sleep. "Come on Baby!!!" RIP - Eric Carmen Always in my heart

Seriously how magical and blessed was growing up then, I was 16 in 1972. It was the music, jeans and long hair, the era, the neighborhoods and parks, great friends and so many foxy chicks! I feel so blessed to have been part of it all. To put it in perspective it lasted from 1969 through the end of 1973....then it was gone. But we're left with a legacy of great music imbedded in our hearts of a special time and place wherever you were then. Cheers!

in 1972 my first girlfriend in high school had dumped me shortly after our graduation night - she was easily the most beautiful girl in the whole school this song was playing on the radio that summer, and it was so hard to listen to because it always made me think of her and whoever her next boyfriend was while she was away at college and I became a working dude in 1992 I bumped in to her at our 20th anniversary high school reunion - she was married with two young children and I was in a committed relationship - but she was still the most beautiful girl I’d ever met.. in 2012, I was newly single and on a whim I used a friend’s FaceBook account to see if I could find her and meet her at our 40th anniversary high school reunion she was newly divorced…. and I was freshly single - and the rest is history - we’ve been happily married for 8 years this summer and she’s STILL the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen!!

I never knew how complete love could be Till she kissed me and said, "Baby, please go all the way, It feels so right Being with you here tonight, Please, go all the way, Just hold me close Don't ever let me go" I couldn't say what I wanted to say Till she whispered, "I love you so, Please go all the way, It feels so right Being with you here tonight, Please, go all the way, Just hold me close Don't ever let me go" Before her love I was cruel and mean, I had a hole in the place where my heart should have been But now I've changed, And it feels so strange I come alive when she does all those things to me And she says, "Come on" (Come on) "Come on" (Come on) "Come on" (Come on) "Come on" (Come on) "I need you" (Come on) "I love you" (Come on) "I need you" (Come on) Please, go all the way It feels so right being with you here tonight Please, go all the way Just hold me close Don't ever let me go Go all the way

Yes, Wally Bryson was and is a great guitarist. We lost out on more great music that Eric and the band could have made due to incompatibility in the band. I was mid teens when they were hot and one of the few 8 track tapes I had was theirs. Please listen to the whole album Fresh, it's all great stuff. Unfortunately because they disbanded so fast, many times their work is overshadowed by critics speaking of their (admitted) influences instead of their fantastic sound and energy. Enjoy.

macandpat Is it TRUE stereo? If the original recording was in mono, you cannot simply turn it into true stereo. All you can do is split the channels. It's still mono playing over two channels. There's no true separation.

True but u can still get some for of separation based on frequencies, etc. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Manos Petridis It's not separation you're hearing when you split one channel into two. You've done nothing more than double the number of channels. You're essentially mirroring an existing channel, not adding another one with new information. No amount of processing can change the undeniable fact that a monaural recording is still that.

Manos Petridis If you can find some info on how this was recorded you can understand why it sounds so bad. Erics mics had different compression settings. The studio they recorded it in was a big dump. There was a better sounding and more polished mix of the song and for some reason they used the more rough primitive mix. Sounds like rechanneled stereo but if you listen to the first few seconds of intro Erics voice is in one channel and then goes to center field.
