Eric Carr, and Bruce, have always hit me as the two members of the band who understood that the fans wanted to be seen and not always sold to. All the trinkets and over the top expensive items/experiences have their place and are in high demand but having a band member who connects to the fans is a unique gift. It’s not a slam on anyone else for their actions or motives and in truth my connection to the band is more for Paul who is towards the other extreme of coordinating the brand of KISS from the music to the merchandise. It’s all needed or else there wouldn’t be the phenomenon of KISS.

Yeah man ya know, for me its a perfect story. If the original 4 stayed together they would most lokely have burned out and become irrelevant. I love Kiss and the whole story.

Thanks for sharing this Mike. Eric was as nice and caring as everybody says he was. I only met him twice. It was about 5 day apart. He looked at me and said I know you. We hung out in Dayton Ohio the other day and no, you still cannot have my Crazy Nights drum set. Such a great guy!

It just makes you think and wonder what would of happened if Eric never got sick, KISStory would of been so much different. He played such an important part in the band not only replacing Peter but giving the band that incredible sound. I really hope one day when there's a movie made about KISS that Eric receives the recognition he deserves by whomever portrays him.

I wish he would had overcame with what took his life. He was really just starting to wake up from Gene and Paul. (That is why he was worried about Eric Singer.) I think what became of the Revenge record that probably would had been his last one with KISS. It always bothered Eric that he was a "Hired Hand" of KISS. Eric felt he had proven to Gene and Paul that he was in the band until the end. And he wanted so so much to be a real member of the band. If Bruce followed him(Which I think he would had.) that probably would had been the start of the Reunion tour stuff I would imagine. Well anyways, Nice upload Mike. Hope you find some more stuff. I wish I still had all my "Rockline" interviews. I moved several times throughout the years and those tapes probably got thrown away. The best one comes to memory was from the Animalize tour. I remember some funny moments of Eric busting Gene's balls during the interview! ha ha...Take care man.

Mike, since I have made a mess of things as usual, and no way out, I want to pass on to you the latter Randy Castillo sent me, as copy, after Sharon broke him, for kicks, at the stroke of Randy's deaths door. I was with him all the way from the weekend he went up to Bakersfield and met with Sharon and Ozzy at the Glen Helen. He couldn't wait to tell me about afterwards, on Monday. He was so full of new life. Here's the link. Randy's last words to me was to beg me bury it, and not make it publicly known, I can only suppose his admittedly 1996 sole responsibility for his dishonorable discharge from the Ozzy band then, for conduct unbecoming, was still with him, and he was afraid that would be brought to life again in lue of this stab in his back by Sharon, in 2000, if he went public and sued them for Breach Of Contract. He never spoke a good thing about them again, but found by God's grace a little light of love and happiness at the very last months of his life. He formed a new band with Mike Inez, and met a woman, Ice, whom he loved for those last days of life leased to him by God, in Spring 2002. No More Tears now, Randy! ❤️ I loved you! You live in my heart while I have my being. While my light lasts I shall never forget you, your overflowing kindness to me. And when darkness decent I shall always remember you. And Sharon hated Zakk in 1988 and wanted "Mike Rock" or what'swashisname. But you took Zakk with you to Barbados, away from Sharon, Ozzy, and LA, and semented him into the band so Sharon was unable to ruin it, and when you came back, she conceded to Zakk because of your kindness to him....
