This song and the Journey Man album is fantastic. My comment is about the guitar. I was so fortunate be given by my parents a Fender Stratocaster American Standard with the same Lace Sensor pickups as the Eric Clapton model. I did sell it and regret that to this very day. God bless Eric Clapton!

Eric's guitar work is phenomenal on this piece. Anyone who thinks his best days were behind him is totally clueless. His guitar screams! This definitely shows that Eric can "bring it" any time he wants to. I started playing guitar in 1975, and Eric Clapton still amazes me. Such an incredible sound - a Fender twin combined with a Leslie cab.

Clapton is, obviously, a master guitarist, particularly in the blues, blues-rock, and formative rock and roll style. But I can’t help but feel that at least 10% of his iconic quality- as it probably does with all people on that level- comes from the fact his whole life on camera looks like it’s worthy of a poster. He looks so fucking cool all the time.
@mickgriffin38435 жыл бұрын
Good observation as I have had these thoughts through the years.
@PiagaBiblica894 жыл бұрын
Cannot agree 100%. The footage from the "24 nights" is incredibly cool (take as an example the Bad Love video), but there's plenty of gigs filmed before mid '80s, when he started getting sober, where you can clearly tell that he's totally wasted and barely standing (late '70 footage, especially), nevertheless still playing like a guitar god
@davidbrown51524 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And that Fender Strat looks like it’s part of his body.
@micheleatlilacsrust57854 жыл бұрын
@Ace Harris Clapton is a very sexy beautiful man, yes. But he did not always look this polished. He had a perm at the start of the Cream years which made him unrecognizable to what you see here. So make no mistake-the way he plays the hell out of the guitar and sings in his signature raspy powerful soulful voice is WHY he is epic.

The best part was watching these three guitar masters looking on in awe at the talent of the others on stage. Truly inspiring!!
