The James Taylor version was so good that I thought it couldn't get any better until now. Funny thing is that I always liked Eric Clapton but wasn't the biggest fan. This song though,...WOW. This is so much more soulful. The absolute best version! The Lead guitar licks are in the best taste. Great stuff!

Hope someone has a clearer, higher definition version of this exception performance in stereo uploaded! It's an astounding version of a JT classic, different, rawer, slow rock rendition the way only Eric Clapton can..... just love it..... as much as I love JT's. His guitar play here is ..... OMG...... sinuous, alluring, tempting, sexy..... and just downright soulful, as was his singing.... I'm in love and can't stop listening. This song for me from Clapton will always be etched as a bitter-sweet moment at present, in my life.

I saw Eric in the Albert Hall in early Feb 2001. The Impressions performed support and backing vocal duties, Andy Fairweather-Low, drummer Steve Gadd, bassist Nathan East and keyboardist Billy Preston - from the Beatles Get Back sessions. Truly amazing venue to see them all. I remember being particularly surprised by Eric's vocal command, no doubt informed by the quality of the renowned backing group on display here. They closed with a version of Over the Rainbow. Magic!

My favorite Clapton of all the live footage out there. Claptons voice shines and he is truly one with his guitar on this one. A James Taylor song done in a similar arrangement the Isley Brothers did it. Bravo.

True, of course Eric Clapton is great, c'mon, I know...but no one does these songs like the one and only JT..c'mon, the original ones are soooooooooooo great, that it is a tribute that Eric would pay respects to JT, as JT truly admires Eric. I did not get goose bumps on this one, but always do with James, though Wonderful Tonight gives me the bumps-that is how I rate a love song......
