Everyone else has commented on the music, and it is great. But I also love the album cover shown here. It's so totally emblematic of the time. That kind of stripped-back rough look, the loose-fitted wide-shouldered jacket the figure is wearing.

Interestingly, the 12 inch vinyl soundtrack mini-album sounds great at EITHER 45RPM or 33.3RPM (it is actually supposed to be played at 45RPM). Brilliant music, probably the greatest TV series soundtrack in history.

I used to own the original twelve inch version of this tune. It was so much darker, and menacing than this, with a final soaring note that just lifted every hair on the neck.

Wow. Clapton and team outdid themselves on this one. For musicians out there - it's in poly-mode. High-concept combined with Eric's Delta-Blues and it works perfectly! That's incredibly hard to pull off!
