This song was on the August album and got little or no airplay. By far one of his finest songs.

All my musical heros are old and kicking off one by one. Who is gonna fill these shoes after all the masters of their instruments have passed on? I think a 100 years from now Clapton will still be listened to. His body of work is huge. He seems so chill even while hes ripping on a solo. Hes had one hell of a life

To Mbeals-"that black guy" ---Is Nathan East---one of the BEST Bass players to ever hit the stage--He & Greg Phillanges (keyboards) played with Clapton alot during the 80's---BTW Phil Collins is no slouch on the drums --IMO they were all simply magnificent--Just watching Clapton on that Strat makes my day---Thanks ouvigna for posting this L.

one of the most things i like about eric clapton are his era's. the young one with JM&BB, cream. and through the drugs onto the era of cocaine (both song AND stuff). going to the era of Run and forever man, which was the end of the young eric clapton in my opinion. than the era of the connorblues.. what eric is now, is nothing more then a completed legend showing what he is still these days. i love him. sorry for my bad english.. i'm dutch

Anyone lasting that long will have definable 'eras', but Eric's are certainly more memorable than most.

What a tune... this was the best available in 1986, such a dull era in the history of rock music. 'They' used to say it was 'mainstream', I didn't care: indie rock at that time was horrendous to my ears. It still is.

He’d be dead now if he hadn’t stopped. But I do miss a well lubricated EC ripping a solo. Can’t be at the party forever I quit beer almost 3 years ago and never missed it after 30 years of 6-12 everyday
@zoe-janesutherland43593 жыл бұрын
@@curtismoff I'm off the belief that while it was best for EC's health to come off the booze and drugs, it can also be argued that he was at best when he was off his tits. But yeah, he'd be dead now if he didn't quit. Also, congrats to you for giving up the beer for 3 years, that a huge achievement :) :) :)

Yeah, many feel Clapton's 80's stuff sucked but I actually enjoy every album of the 80's - Money and Cigs thru Journeyman. A bit commercial here and there sure, WB pushing that sales thing, very big drum machine stuff going on in the mid to late 80's but overall, lots of solid Blues Pop Rock with a dash of Funk in there and it works for me!

And anyway, that's how Phil started destroying his hands... you shouldn't (as a drummer) hit the sticks so hard and never release that hit............. his hitting hand ALWAYS remained stuck on the drum, so that the strength of it went entirely into his body. You should never do that, you should release that hand and avoid this process...
