This song has been played with the right groove ! Good job !

Three things: 1-The band sounds great, 2-Mr Clapton has the mojo and 3-The importance of the harmonica in this song is absolute.

Excellence must come with age. What a performance! You are on your game Clapton,and the drummer (Spinetti) deserves a bonus.

Too dominant. He should have listened to Willie "blue eyes" Smith.

I think spinetti is one of the greatest. What a show !!!!!!!!!

Only dominate as the set up of the band allows. The do sound test. I feel that may e ot was this way for Spinetti to "drive" the song forward
@kurtpatterson12963 жыл бұрын
Spinetti wasn't dominant, my opinion. He was just feeling the spirit like he was in the "church" of Clapton and the history of the song!!!😂😂😂
@prathameshbhambureАй бұрын
Like someone's said, he sure got the mojo. EC is inspired by the greatest musical figures. Words fall short when I try to talk about Mr Spinetti. I wish he and EC played regularly in the recent years and on from now.

kerry mcmanus You mean Preston Forester (the man who wrote it) would be proud? Ann Cole is the original singer of "Got My Mojo Workin" in 1956. The song became more popular after Muddy Waters redid it in 1957.

@@Tabby2127Let's face it. Besides that Forester wrote it, and Cole sang it for the first time; Waters made it popular. And I think most of people stuck to that. Here, Clapton makes a great cover. Love it.

The reference for this is Sam Lay singing and drumming with Butterfield around 1966. His drumming is like a locomotive barely on the tracks. Clapton does that little lip flutter thing that Lay does which pretty much cements this cover. This drummer imitates the crash part but the Sam Lay version comes close to beggaring belief. For my money EC is the greatest living artist of electric guitar, he's always terrific...even when he's just imitating himself, like the above. I'm just saying listen to the Butterfield version. If you want to really hear energy, that makes this good cover sound anemic, check out the Butterfield/Lay/Bloomfield track...no one ever equalled it and I've heard quite a few great versions.
