What's really sad is that so many people like you credit the Derek and the dominos album version to Eric Clapton. It was NOT Clapton. This was Duane Allman from start to finish and he is the one that changed the riff from the Hendrix version

My favorite version of Little Wing. It was recorded for the Layla album in tribute to Jimi who died during the recording of the album.

Have you ever noticed Clapton's middle finger when playing some chords? It's sticking straight out like shooting a bird instead of curled when not in use. I've tried it and my middle finger can't do it. It has to be curled to make the chord.
