Thank you Bartje for introducing me to this 2nd suite - London Again! I particularly appreciated the references to the 2nd movement (number 4 - Allegro vivace) as well as to the 3rd movement (number 12 - Cantabile) reminding us of the melodic lines of the 1st suite - London Every Day.

Yet more delightful Eric Coates! Bartje, I've known few of the titles of the Coates scores you've posted, but as soon as the music starts, it's almost as if the melodies had been burned into my soul, maybe from birth - even though I'm a Chicagoan, born and bred, except for a year in the early 1950's in Italy, when I was five. Keep 'em coming, Bartje!

Lebhafte und wunderschöne Interpretation dieser kompakten und fein komponierten Suite mit farbenreichen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt elegisch. Der intelligente und erfahrene Dirigent leitet das perfekt trainierte Orchester im veränderlichen Tempo und mit effektiver Dynamik. Dieser verborgene Schatz soll außer Großbritannien viel häufiger aufgeführt und viel höher Geschätzt werden!
