I heard this piece on my local classical radio station and thought to myself "I NEED TO WRITE THIS DOWN SO I CAN LISTEN TO IT LATER", and that's what I'm doing now. Lovely piece!

Idealised (and why, indeed, not?) musical evocations of a certain season. "Noonday Song" makes the eyelids droop dreamily as if relaxing in a garden as the early evening begins....

Nothing wrong with that in the real world, such as we have now. This makes you think of 1930s springtime in England, shortly before it all came crashing down. And, actually never to be seen again in this form. I was four when this was recorded and knew nothing about anything.

Tempo of Dance in the Twilight a little foo fast for this ear. Try to do something to that and it's heart attack territory.

A delightful piece I'd completely forgotten ever hearing. This is the story of Springtime if ever there was one. Now to investigate the sound of Summer Days.

The Bright Young Things at Downton Abbey circa 1930s (Lady Violet would be 110 years young then) would enjoy this.

Barry! Let's not even think about Downton Abbey and it's inhabitants which was fiction, even as it may have been modelled on truth. Truth being far better than fiction, they tell me.
