"Where Do you Find the Time?" is a limited series I am doing- "interviewing" slash having conversations with Dad Runners or Runner Dads. I aim to unearth best practices for other dads to learn how we can find balance between Family, running, and work.
My first guest is Eric Floberg - inspired by the short film he did "My Father's Son." In this video we talk about his how he balances his runs, the short film he shot titled My Father's Son (linked above), his sub 3, sub 2:50 and sub 2:40 journey, his signing with BPN, coach Jeff Cunningham, his soon to be released feature length documentary and more.
The entire conversation was well over an hour but I condensed it down to 15 minutes in a preview. Editing this episode was a whole lot more work than I anticipated on the back end. Ideally, I would

Wow Andrew what a gift on this Sunday morning ❤️. Absolutely loved this. Eric’s content is so damn inspirational. This was a fantastic idea, I’m the father of a special needs boy and spending time with him trumps any sub 3:00 I could ever run!! Excellent work and go crush it next week 💪🏻

Thanks James! I feel the needle has moved aerobically ever so slightly. I am hoping the difference in fitness isn’t absolved by the warmer temps but it is what it is. Going to go for it, regardless

41 years old runner dad of 2 boys here.. i try my best to run 30 mins a day before work starts at 8am.. get my running gears ready the night before and put them on when before driving to send the kids to school and then to work.. if weather permits (in the tropics) and no unexpected traffic congestion, i usually get it done.. base building for 7 weeks now at 139bpm MAF.. 30mins gets me about 3.2km (9mins/km pace).. running slow but i'm invested in this low heart training.. hope to one day get it down to 6mins/km pace one day in low heart rate

That’s great! I’ve got a MAF playlist if you haven’t checked it out. You’re going to get there! Running in the tropics will slow you down for sure with the humidity

🤣 thanks for the kind words . Hey I’m at 379 miles now, will get close to 400 before the marathon next Saturday. It completes the adidas line up for me, an easy day and daily trainer, tempo is adios pro 3, interval takumi Sen, race day adios pro 2. Got the Boston 12 for 80 dollars but currently too firm for as many miles as I have been running. I’ll see if they soften in the off season. I’ll stick to sub 100 for the recommendations out of respect to the wallet

@@MidLifeRunner Nice rotation! It's my first Adidas shoe TBH Im a Saucony and Nike type of runner. BTW Do you think there is cons for using carbon platted shoe as a daily trainer?
