This is typical of smaller races that course happens to be short but it is still a good time and can give some indication of what you can do for longer races.

Novablast OG was a great shoe and had a fun ride. I tried all the subsequent versions and was not satisfied with the ride. OG was also a very durable shoe. The outsole rubber was still complete at 450 miles when I retired the shoe. Few shoes give me that mileage with my gait (wear out lateral heels) At least v3 was a lighter shoe. V4 is overbuild and the Blast+ Eco foam is a very dull foam vs the original Blast which was more energetic giving back the energy put into compressing the shoe. I sink in V4, it protects my foot but have to work to pick up my feet. Asics in the great wisdom turned Novablast into another Nimbus. Personally, I found Cumulus 26 as a more responsive shoe than Novablast 4. Maybe Tri-Noosa 16 is an ASICS alternative as well. I am hearing good things about that shoe. Other brands have better choices now. Adidas Adizero SL2 is a fun shoe at even lower price point than Novablast 4, gives me some of the vibes of Novablast OG. I also liked Mach 6 in my demo test run, bouncy easy to pick up shoe.
@MidLifeRunner3 күн бұрын
Yeah I like more of the minimal shoes (prefer). I love the tri noosa 14. I like the rebel v3 and am hopeful the sl2 is like that. I haven’t given the gel nimbus a go or cumulus in years. I do wish they would return the Novablast more like the 1. But it seems they’re getting away from that. Magic speed got more structured too

You definitely need to get the Adidas Adizero SL2 considering how much you like the Takumi Sen. the SL2 has a lot of similar feel underfoot to the Sen but in a daily trainer type setup. The first run out of the box can feel a little “chaotic” with how soft and bouncy the midsole is. After that, the shoe breaks in really nicely and feels great at a wide range of paces. It has exceeded my high expectations I had for the shoe. Also, if you are an Adidas AdiClub member, you could trade in points for a voucher for a percentage off full price items. I traded in points for a 30% off voucher and got the SL2 for $91 on release morning (roughly an hour after going on sale).

Looks like I’m becoming an ADICLUB member ! This is fantastic intel Matt Beier , thank you . I’m looking forward to this. Feels like it could be this years rebel v3 as far as more minimal daily trainer. Everyone is going wider , even the takumi. I like a bit more narrow

Actually checked. I have 1,482 miles in V2s. 1,259 miles in V3s. 28 miles in V4s. (8 total shoes there) Thus far I've been really disappointed with the V4s. Feel so sluggish, but couldn't find anymore 3s.
