I have been watching a few of Eric's video's tonight, I have NEVER heard ANYBODY play with THIS much talent., From Hendrix to SRV, to Scott Henderson, to Michael Landau, Eric simply out plays the lot. Tone, is as good as any of these players, Ad Lib ability, light years ahead of ANY of them. This guy is ridiculously brilliant. No G3 offers i would guess, lol, and maybe EVEN no Bonamassa gig offers either.

He played with Joe on the cruise ship last year and now they are working together on a new album with Joe as producer and guest on some songs. I can't wait for it to come out, not sure what the delay is all about cause they are done with it as of end of last year. Check out Jimmy Herring if you want to hear another brilliant guitarist to add to your list

@@davidhightower5805 I saw Eric guest @ Huntsville for Joe back in April, here you go. He says the new release will be out end of this year, they have waited to build up the interest and get some shows under their belts ............ cheers from Alabama kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4LHXqOhe5eZpKs

I wouldn't include Hendrix in that list. Jimi's playing is qualitatively different than every body else before and after him. As great as Gales is, he doesn't have Jimi's depth of expression.

I’ve seen some of the best play live; Benson, Holdsworth, Robben Ford, VanHalen, Mike Stern… this is one of the best things I’ve heard a guitar player do. Not just the chops, but the cool arrangement, note choices, and mostly the feeling I got… wow.

Beautiful. Carlos just adored hendrix so much. I think he felt he found him reborn in Eric and was so excited and instead if being threatened like some can be he fathered and helped release a son into all he could br

Eric is at his best when he's doing these soulful, soaring jams. I can see why Carlos was drawn to him. They have a similar spirit.

Eric is a genius! That playing, those dynamics, the timing, the note choice, and his phrasing all coalesce to make this amazing Europa rendition. I bet Santana is proud.

I was 16 when started doing it professionally. I had some great guitarists to learn from. The guys today are the best in the Bizz. Joe Bonamassa and Eric Gales are the two best I ever thought I'd see in my lifetime. I had Stevie Ray to follow and steer my style. Loved him. Just wish I had enough time to catch up with Joe & Eric. You two are the most awesome guitar players I've ever seen. Thanks

Eric Gales and Cody Wright! These guys are so damn good! Talent like that is far beyond what we see around us every day. It just is not part of the average world. Eric Gales give us hope to raise up and see the beauty above our mere human condition. Such awesome talent only comes along once in a great long piece of history - like Mozart. No one can set out to become that good - your just ARE that good. Then, you devote your life to refining that tremendous level of talent into a razor sharp skill and stage performance. Now, impossibly, Eric Gales has teamed up with yet another "Mozart"! Together, Eric Gales & Cody Wright are like a Force of Nature, unstoppable... making the world a better place like a warm sun shinning on a beautiful day.

Man...I just don't know what to do with this Eric Gales. Totally blind to being left handed and gifted. Just makes my head hurt...dude is just sweet. Bless you brother!

But he is naturally right handed, now put that together

His grandpa somewhat forced him to start to play as a lefty, because hendrix and Albert king was left handed. But different Hendrix he didnt inverted the strings.

Jonas Wellinghton Silveira Rocha Eric has said himself numerous times that he just picked it up like that and didn't realize till years later that he was playing "improperly" but of course it was too late at that point to switch. He said it felt natural from day one to play guitar like that.

Adding to all that musicality, he gets a different ring out of that upside down guitar. I call it goofy foot like Dick Dale and Albert King, a trip to watch as well. Basically it’s like watching guitar playing from the players perspective lol except his thumb is playing fourths on the skinny strings!
