Speechless, one of the closest to original covers I've ever heard, probably even THE closest, this is the final confirmation I needed to go ahead with these pickups over a couple other ToneRider sets I've been reviewing . . super thanks!

Too kind! Thank you very much. The hardest part was achieving a light touch but with enough authority as to not sound weak. EJ is such a legend. These pickups are among the best I've played. I actually prefer them to the stock Fender EJ pickups.

Great job! I have these pickups in my old MIM Strat. Love the clarity and responsiveness of them. Always thought they would do the SRV tone if asked to, but I don't have the gear - or the talent - to take them there.

Eric Johnson is great player who is not my favourite but like this song SRV and you do nice job ! Like the tone of the Tonerider surfari those sound like my old 55 stratocaster the 56 I own is alnico 5 so much more drive and loss of clearaty. Best regards from Sweden

Actually they are a bit different. Made in the same factory. Fewer winds on the Classic Vibe but still good.

@@Taylort3b j ai une Squier CV50 stratocaster de 2018 , la derniere année ou elles etaient fabriqué en chine , j ai preferré changer l electronique en premier lieu plutot que les micros , et je dois dire que ce fut un paris gagnant , alors je ne sais pas si mes micros sont des fender ou des tonerider surfari , ou s ils sont suffisement proche car fabriqué dans la meme usine , mais je sais que le micro manche est absolument superbe , je cherches a remplacer le micro central et chevalet en piochant chez Tonerider pour essayer de faire un set qui se rapprocherait de l ensemble Fender Eric johnson signature .

Hi Great playing, is this an eric johnson signature your playing on? If so what made you decide to change the pickups? I have the surfari set in a strat and they are incredible pickups

Thank you! This is a custom made strat. It's basically a cross between an Eric Johnson RW Signature and a SRV strat. The neck profile is closer to the SRV but it has a 10,5inch radius which makes it a breeze to play. I used to own an EJ signature strat and I prefer the Surfaris to the EJ pickups. They seem to bark a bit more when pushed but they can sound warm and clear as well. Very articulate and dynamically responsive pickups.

Thank you! It's a partcaster. Just a standard strat body and the neck was a custom order. It's basically an EJ neck with a standard radius instead of the flatter fretboard found on the EJ. 6105 frets. Still have it and it's been my main for years now. A bit beaten but the neck is rock solid. Turned out great.
