I found an old Eric Johnson Guitar Player mag with him on the cover when he was unknown. Got it when I was a little feller.... He said in the interview that his beloved '58 was stolen and he implored the thieves to return it! So happy to see he finally got it back. I guess good things do happen to good people once in a while!

Eric is one of those players where you can hear that he has certain influences and has learned certain things from listening to other players, but he is able at times to either put all that aside or mesh it all together into his own sound...excellent guitarist and musician for that matter.

This (parts 1 & 2) is THE best "gear" video I've seen on utube You get "the man" - not his roadie/tech - and he steps you thru every switch & pedal, and shows you his (let's be honest - TO DIE FOR!!) amps. And a couple of jokes too... It does not get better than this (but to be fair, Vai's is pretty good too) ps all the big boys use those handwired Marshalls. A modern classic in the making I think..
