Wow, so few people actually seem to have gotten the message in this song. It's about a broken woman who at one time loved a man greatly. So much so that when she lost him, she lost herself. It's about a woman who searches to fill the void of loneliness but a warning to the men that fall for her, that she can't love them. She loves someone else and no matter what you do, you won't ever be the one she truly needs and wants. It's a sad song, one where the man singing speaks of this woman who at one was whole and a happy person and saw beauty in love but he broke her heart and she can't heal.

I think the main reason we hang on to the first real love we had and have touble letting go is because we don't really know how. It's not easy to just get up and say alright and actually mean it in those situations. There are countless nights where the last thing you'd want to do is sleep. Then there are moments in the day time where you're walking down the street and they haven't plagued your mind in months, but there's a scent you smelled, a word you caught, something small you saw, or someone who looked similar tto them and it feels like you're drowning all over again. There's so much in how someone handles telling you that they don't want you anymore. When they just don't tell you at all, but let it drag on forever..ugh.. so over it. Everything we experience in life changes us. If we were all so bold as to be upfront and honest with ourselves and the people that we spend our time with, perhaps some of us (like me) wouldn't end up being so raw.
