I absolutely love this song... it makes me tear up every time I hear it. This song perfectly describes ANYONE whose heart has been left tattered and utterly broken by the one they believed to be their true last first kiss - male or female. It takes a piece of you that you can never get back, leaves a permanent stain on your childlike innocence, and affects every relationship you will ever have from then on. Country music is by far my favorite genre, as I am sure it is for many of you. It may be a bit cliche, but it truly is the heart-wrenching breakup songs which instantly take me back to a specific place and time in my life that keep me coming back for more... every single time. A great song such as this can do as much if not more to heal a shattered heart in the long run than simple time can; at least I have found this to be true anyway. Rascal Flatt's deviation from just this type of emotionally heart-rending song as the focal point of their album is why I believe they haven't experienced the same level of success since their 2007 album "Still Feels Good." Can honestly say this song was me after my heart was broken by someone I truly loved. I dated other guys, I tried so hard to convince myself I cared about these guys when I just didn't.
