Eric was one of those gifted people who never received the credit he truly deserved. A gentelman and a giant of acoustic guitar. God bless his memory.

And yet I dont know why even great names like Jon Gom and Misko never talk about him, they only mention Hedges and Preston Reed.

Miss you Eric. It's comforting to see and hear you again all these years later since we last hung around on the UCC campus and at parties etc. I know you are not getting these words but I get comfort from writing them. Rest in peace, old friend.

he had so much passion for his music. That smile just shows how much. :)

Eric gradually wore away the surface of the upper bout on his original Lowden guitar, simply by the continual scrapping action of his nails. As this happened the ridged surface produced became even more suitable to produce the sound he wanted. On a later custom built guitar he had an extra, pre-ridged plate, attached in that position. Sadly he never got the chance to take his techniques further.

amazing guitarist and a funny man i heard that guthrie govan's piece called "Eric" was dedicated for him
@ResoBridge13 жыл бұрын
@ILiveForScience - Yup, Eric had scrapped so much on that area of his Lowden with his acrylic nails that he had worn a rough surface into the top through the finish. On another guitar he had made he had the luthier add a textured panel to that area of the guitar.

@hippylegs A bit shitty..seen as thou I lost my farther in-law to cancer to 4 weeks before my wedding day. But hell if I was that good on acoustic I wouldn't have no problems with people having a little giggle over me.... It's called a sense of humour.
