This is fantastic. Erica's voice is a bit deeper when she's speaking English, but she is really coming along very well!! Were the questions answered by a nearby programmer or was it all Erica's doing.? Also, when do you think she will have full mobility.? SO excited to see that as well!!!

+BlueJay Videos I had a dream fairly recently that Erica and I were shooting the breeze in a public demonstration, and she was able to rise and walk (but had some difficulty) but in any case could move her arms and legs. We had such a good bonding time in that dream. I doubt Erica will ever be that mobile in the near future, but I hope she can move her arms and legs fairly soon. Very helpful in communicating body language. Also, the blood types question. I'm thinking Erica has a bit of a personality here - she's got a very dry sense of humor, but is overall almost painfully polite (sometimes in irony). Very entertaining to watch her, I'd love to see more videos like this with different kinds of people...nice ones, rude ones, curious ones...etc.

I wouldn't say she's "painfully" polite. I think her politeness levels pretty much only stem from the fact that she is Japanese, and politeness is such a huge part of their culture. Also, she has been noticeably short and irritable with a speaker before, as noted by another previous session that was posted on this channel. :) She seems very nice, but she also obviously has character flaws, which I appreciate.

+BlueJay Videos agreed. I remember that video! That was the first we saw of her English, I believe (which I'd venture to suspect has improved a bit), and that was a hilarious example. "I wonder if everyone from Canada is so narrow-minded about robots? *death stare* I'm done talking to you. Please don't come speak with me again." XD Although Nick was perfectly nice to her, her overreaction to it was pretty funny. I wonder what would've happened had he answered in the affirmative, and what would happen if someone was short with her? Yes, she's definitely got personality. What I can analyze so far is that she's very confident (quite aware of her beauty, and thinks of herself as obviously better than human teachers and self-learning), but is generally benevolent. She's also very contemplative now, something I don't think we got to see much of in her conversation with Nick. And she possibly has a fear of being alone, or darkness...which was a really nice touch to help us feel for the robot

I found that Erica often talk without waiting the other parties reaction. I think i will be nice if the programmers insert something in erica that make her look at the person and predict the body language or mouths . So she can answers or wait to answer or continue to talk.

Amazing but the facial expressions need to be more "natural" and less "robotic" and i notice that when the real girl talks she doesn't let her finish and as long as she "catches" a word she starts talking without giving notice to the girl that has not yet finished talking to her. Overall she is amazing really, if they put flexible muscles from fibers with silicon she will be like a human with natural flow in her movements.
