I love how you break down the instructions and you don’t assume that people know any of the terms. Your camera angle is perfect because the shot is clear and nice and close. The other thing you do great is that you stopped and, with the needle showed where to put the hook. You understand that for beginners all of the holes look the same. To further reach all of your learners you have notes typed on the video. It’s clear how much effort you put into your tutorials. Just an observation from a teacher…and a student of crochet. Thank you!

One very small granny square was the beginning of what started to be a college dorm bed when my daughter was in school. When it was meant to to be finished for her graduation, I kept on with it and it turned into a wedding gift for when she got married, after school. At that time it had become a king size blanket. I made a second one, same size for one of my sons .. Very satisfying. While working on them, the blankets went with me to many Dr appointments for myself....crochet pouch and all 👍👍👍

Once thing you've done that no other person has done in their tutorials that I've seen is show how the part you're working on fits into the final product. It's actually so helpful. All these terms mean nothing to a beginner if the person doesn't explain how they work! At least to me. Thanks!

Hi! I learned knitting first, as a kid, and since my mid 20's I've been trying to wrap my head around crocheting. Over the years, I'd feel inspired to try to learn it, watch a bunch of KZbin videos about it, get frustrated, and eventually forget about it for a few years until the mood would strike again, only for me to get confused and stop, and the pattern would repeat. This is the first video in 17 years to be able to teach me how to do it. I ACTUALLY MADE A GRANNY SQUARE. Thank you so much for your thoughtful, clear, friendly instructions and video! I think this is easy enough for me too. I've learned the single and double stitches, so far. My biggest regret was not spending more time with my grandmother when I was younger. She lived in another state, and we would only be able to visit for a few days and a lot of family was always around, so it was crazy. She did beautiful work. She was very crafty,, which I believe I've inherited, but I've been afraid to start crocheting. Mainly cause every craft starts out little, then before I know it, I have a room full of yarn. But I'm trying to learn. So far, I've managed to make hanging dishtowels. Getting better.

Thanks for being so clear and repetitive!! Oh and I LOVE that you taught us using the needle to thread in the loose yarns first and then moved on to teach us how to hide it in when you thought we would be able to handle it - SO GOOD. I cannot thank you enough for helping me. I have looked at SEVERAL videos of a granny crochet and for some reason I'd always flub up but yours was the first one I successfully made one through AND I learned how to stitch in colors! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I really enjoyed this tutorial, thank you! I haven’t done crochet in about 30 years. I need to find my hooks and try again.

I can’t tell you how hopeless I felt trying to learn how to crochet a granny square 😭😭 Every tutorial for beginners either made it more complicated, went way too fast (assuming we knew what to do), or had horrible instructions. You made me understand right away and when I was confused, it’s like you knew and answered my question. I will keep practicing with this video!! I’M SO HAPPY that I finally understand and know I’m capable 🥳🥳🥳 THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤

Best video. I know how to crochet, self taught. My Nana always made granny square afghans and passed before she was able to teach me how to crochet. Thank you so much! Everyone is getting granny squares for Christmas this year!

I have been trying to learn how to crochet for 4 months now following several you tube tutorials and couldn’t get it at all. I was just about to pack in thinking it wasn’t for me when I came across your video. Thank you so much! Thanks to you I have made several squares. I am going to check out your other videos to see what else I can make - thanks for your amazing tutorial.

You have no idea how grateful I am I came across this. I was feeling so frustrated that I couldn't nail the granny square and I did it! I'm almost finished enough granny squares to make my first Christmas stocking. TY!!!
