James is the problem. He is the one who gets so worked up - even aggressive - poor Harry feels he cannot say anything to him, without James starting to spin conspiracy theories about Harry cheating on him. It is not normal to be as nervous as Harry was about James finding out about Sadie and the baby - nor to feeling to having to keep quiet about a favor he is doing for his own dad, by trying to talk to Ste. James is not trusting Harry the way he should, and thereby making the situation worse with questions and suspicions, making poor Harry feeling he have to lie not to land their relationship in more problems. Had James been a more normal person, Harry would not have been so worried about him finding out about Sadie and the baby - and he would have answered the text from James with a "got a little derailed doing a favor for my dad. Coming as soon as I have finished talking to Ste." But because James is not normal, Harry neither dare leave him such a straight forward message - not even tell him about the baby that is on it`s way. James is the major problem to this relationship - not Harry.

@@princesslollypop7764 I`m sorry to hear that. Hopefully you have found someone without those issues now - or will in the future. Even though it can be hard to trust someone, or feel fully safe with someone, after an experience like that, most people are not like that. And now that you are aware of what signs to be on the alert for, I hope you have managed to put that experience in the past, and have been/is able to move on with your life. Hope also your ex has gotten help with his issues - so he too will be able to function better in the future.

To be fair though Harry had a history of lieing before he got together with James (that James knew about) so while it's not helped by James behaviour it certainly isn't irrational for James to suspect it. Especially since he keeps getting caught out in lies still.

​@@gmoo84 The thing is, Harry`s lying can mostly be linked to the fact he is (when the scripts are consistent with previous developments) acting cowardly. That is why he didn`t admit JP was not the one he had booked a dirty weekend in Manchester with, why he left Amy unconscious on the floor, why he didn`t divulge who had beaten up Ste (before they were together) outside a gay club and more. But now, because of James` extreme demands on him and near paranoid delusions of Harry being unfaithful, Harry feels there is a lot he can not inform James about, because he is scared about how James will react. The fact James is displaying so extreme behavior that Harry cannot even divulge he has done his father a favor by talking to Ste, suggests the relationship between Harry and James is built on very rocky ground - and when adding to that James` extreme anger, need to control Harry at any time (now even starting to clone Harry`s phone), we are looking at a serious personality disorder, possibly even a mental illness - but on James` part. James` reactionary pattern, his extreme delusions of Harry being unfaithful to him despite Harry`s behavior and words suggest devotion and love which, makes it very hard to find rational explanations for James` extreme jealousy. To put it blunt, James is not quite right in the head, which together with his extreme need for control and to be superior - in real life - would have made him an extremely dangerous and unpredictable person indeed. His own father Mac, Breda, Laurie, Ryan, Lindsey, Nico, Cameron and Silas are small potatoes compared to James. That might sound exaggerated, but based on the calculated manipulative and cruel acts James has committed already - like both what he did to Sami`s dad, and to Harry, Tony and Diane when he "helped" his mother help herself to Tony`s restaurant - and because of his extreme self-focus in everything he does, the fact he is totally incapable of seeing things from other people`s perspective or to imagine how they must be feeling, makes him so unpredictable he could be capable of all kinds of manipulations, lies, cruelty and more to get things his way. That makes him very very dangerous, cause he can make himself do almost anything imaginable - and at the same time both feel justified in doing so, and not feel any regret afterwards. Like when he took JP on the drive from hell to punish him for a one night stand with Ste, deliberately framed Ste for having killed Amy and more. Harry, on the other hand, regrets his mistakes, and has sworn to himself to never do something similar again. James is incapable of regret and also takes pride in his calculated manipulations and power-play, cause he that way feels powerful, in control and superior to others. Which is why it is clear he has a serious personality disorder - which again makes him a monster. I will even claim a bigger monster than his father Mac was. Why? Because Mac, apart from letting Neeta fall to her death in a moment of anger and disappointment, didn`t deliberately and calculated kill anyone, or even harmed them. He threatened people - in particular Hunter - but he didn`t display the same calculated manipulations and ruthlessness as his son, James does. Neither Nathan`s death, nor the blow up of the school can justly be blamed on Mac. The school explosion was caused by Luke Morgan banging on a pipe to the boiler - causing a leak, which exploded when Mac set fire to a drawing. And Nathan died as a result of a professional builder insufficiently had secured and opening where there should have been a window - and which either should have been locked and closed off until the window had been installed, or secured with something more solid than a plastic sheet. In real life it would have been the builder - and not Mac - who had been blamed for Nathan`s death. The difference between Mac and James, is that where Mac`s actions were driven by his fear of losing Neeta, and his despair of growing too old to be who he wanted to be (and that was why he had an affair with Lisa - to prove to himself that he still had would it took to be liked and desired by gorgeous women), James` motivations for his acts has been to prove himself in control and power of others. It probably gave him an extra ego boost that he was so good at manipulating people, he was able to make the boy he turned into a prostitute his boyfriend - as is what he in fact did to Harry because of that £10 000 night. Had it not been for that night introducing Harry to prostitution, Harry would have found a different way of supporting himself after Tony kicked him out, and he became homeless. Simply because the threshold to sell himself would have been higher, had he never done it before, than it was after the £10 000 night, because now he knew what it entailed and what it felt like. So James is responsible for Harry`s rent boy history. James displays a level of control over Harry which comes very close to that of those men who abuse their spouses - and sometimes ends up killing them. They suffer in silence because they have had so much of their independence and free will cut off, and therefore obey the abuser to get a feeling of being loved from the recognition he shows them when they obey and behave as he expects. Seeing every little act of kindness or tenderness as a promise he now will change for the better, and become the man they fell in love with when they first met. Harry isn`t happy. He is walking on glass around James, hoping that by being how James want him to be, he and James will become happy in the future. Unfortunately it is an illusion, cause people who are so self-centered and solely focused on their own feelings and standing as James - and incapable of imaging how their behavior is felt by their partner - can come to take their need for control and power over their partner so far, they could end up killing them. So I, for one, is mighty pleased over the rumors Jarry to be over - and hope it will be proven true. And also that they never will get back together again. Cause based on most of James` previous acts and behavior, he is not suited to be in a relationship at all. It would have taken a lot of therapy before he would be. And unless he gets some, he is a monster which potentially could be ten to a hundred times more dangerous than any of the other Hollyoaks baddies and weird pots there has been, because of both his unpredictability and his extreme lack of empathy.

harry + nightingale content is still the best thing ever. i love him and marnie. he's become such a part of that family. i kind of really wish harry had a less...nonchalant approach to ste's fascism and tried harder to actually talk about that. very strange to see, i want him more bothered by it.

He is the only one who may have a chance at reaching into Ste, cause he is not telling Ste what to think and believe. He is respecting Ste`s right to his own opinions, which again will make it more likely Ste will listen to Harry`s (to which extent Harry even has to say anything - Ste probably already know from their time together Harry is on the same side as Tony, Leela and almost everyone else in Hollyoaks village). Just by Harry showing Ste he is there, and he doesn`t hate him, Ste would have someone to turn to, should he come to the decision that Stuart, Johnny and the gang are wrong. Since it would have been Ste himself who made the decision to break with the group - it wouldn`t have been something anyone had told him or pressured him into. So thumbs up for Harry - that re-orientation of Ste`s racist view point has been amateur night for far too long now.

Today it was reconnection between « old acquaintances » : Harry and Steven, Sami and James. It was nice to see. It is true that Harry is the only one among Steven’s « relatives » in the village, who have not yet tried to bring him back to his senses. But i doubt very much that he will succeed , because he is not Brendan, and this radicalization’s story will end up only in October, and waits for the moment when the « soldier » Steven will do the job for which he was « recruited ». Four months is a long time, and horrible events can still happen. I wonder also why Harry felt the need to lie to James again, especially when he knows that his lies put their couple at risk and that James is defending him in a case where he doubts much of his sincerity.

I guess Harry found it difficult to text James that he was talking to Ste at the moment but that is what he should have done and texted that he will explain things later to James. :) Just be more open and honest with everything and hopefully the trust between them can grow but apparently Harry will leave/dump James next week which sounds so childish.

But since lying and « secrets» were the sensitive subjects in the couple these days, Harry should have measured the risks. And knowing James and his verbal aggression and his Machiavellian side, for that Harry who depends on him for everything, comes to this decision, it means James will be odious, unbearable in the days to come.

I'm sorry but as much I loved Starry when they had their time and everything I think Harry needed to get a grip; it was a constant froth and back and 'I love you's followed by 'I'm sorry's cause he kept on sneaking around with/for somebody else - James does have his own issues and wrongdoings but if my feelings were being messed around since the minute I met the supposed love of my life I'd be just as insecure and mustrusting as he is
