I regularly visited Tofino, Long Beach and Ucluelet oh some 40 years ago or more. What a beautiful spot that surprisingly after 40-years appears relatively unchanged. Remember tho this is the Pacific Ocean and surprisingly the waters are blue and crystal clear for 2 to 3 meters or so. I have so many fond memories of spending vacations in this small area of BC.

Just came back from 5-day trip to Torino/Ucluelet. Wish I watched this video before I went there. Tacofina was great. Long beach and Chesterman beach were not bad, but I prefer warmer and more commercialized beaches in Southern California or Hawaii. Overall, it was a bit of a boring town especially when the weather wasn't great. Friendly people, though!

WE also honeymooned on Vancouver Island, going to Tofino and Uclulet for a part of our time, but that was back in 2011. I am guessing things have changed a lot! So fun! Cant wait to return THIS summer! Woohoo!

Tofino is cool but that water will not give you Hawaii vibes. If you want a "Hawaiian" type water vibe...hornby island is the place.

You can’t fly near the city because it’s an aerodrome - airport and seaplanes constantly taking off. There is a spot near Chesterman beach that you can fly.

We went to Tofino and were quite baffled as to why people like it. The hotel prices were crazy and there was really nothing to see other than the beach. The town took about 45 min to see every shop. I think it is lovely if you hike , surf or cycle. There really is nothing else there. Restaurants were quite good but also very expensive.

Yes it’s a popular destination and not very big, so prices definitely reflect that. Most people go there to do nothing honestly haha it’s a laidback surfer town meant for hanging around and enjoying the sounds of the sea.

I took my brother who was visiting from Ontario to Tofino this past August. He loved it! Me not so much! I think its overrated and too expensive for what you get. I prefer the mountains in Alberta, Banff, Jasper and Kananaskis. I guess I'm a land lubber?
