That was just incredible! And unexpected! I thought, it would be a decorative glass piece with random color patches on it. But never would I have thought that it would be a fish in a scenery in a glass ball... ----- I watched it over and over again. It is kind of a modular object. They made the elements like the fish in a small bubble of clear glass beforehand. Then they popped everything on that one glass piece (the scenery) and finally they added a coat of clear glass around it all to make the ball of glass with everything in it. This way it almost makes sense ;-) Yes, sure, it makes sense now. But although I now have an idea how they make it, it still is a masterpiece!

@Sentient-cassette-player11 ай бұрын
You can have this kind of talent, because it's not talent. It's skill. Anyone can learn to play guitar, but not everyone can make great music. Thats real talent. The only thing preventing you is your ignorance and your budget. Once you realize the difference you can learn any "talent" you put your mind to
@CleeTorres_11 ай бұрын
@@Sentient-cassette-player It takes talent to be an artist. I am sure I can blow glass but I have zero vison/artistic abilities. 😑
@Leo-e3j7o11 ай бұрын
Both of you are wrong, all of these are skills that can be learned by practice and hard work. People with "talent" were just immersed in these situations and trained to be as good as they are. The closest thing to talent is the unique ways one does something and is something we all have. We all have our own way of learning and doing things.

Nope look at the granite vases made in Egypt long ago. They are millimeter accurate that you can do some neat tricks with them. But to give you a context it's the hardest substance to work with in stone work. Diamond drills would break trying to shap it. Yet these guys somehow did what it would take modern machines to do the same with modern tools. And we need special tools to make those tools in complexity. So ya go check those out. But be warned its a very sensitive topic in those circles. There are amateur archaeologists that want to look into the vexing problem and there are professional archaeologists that want to stay very far away from the problem, they even draw into question thier dating scheme. Professionals hate them and they wish they didn't exist.

First a puntel of glass to which different pieces and shapes of glass are added, he's starting from the bottom of the finshed piece, the little fish attatched to a cylinder of ckear glass has been made previously, and is added lastly. Then the whole shebang is heated again, idk if there was anymore glass added tbh. Keeping it circulating as it heats. There's a shaping tool of wet wood to make it perfectly round, a wad of folded wet newspaper after to smooth it, a metal pincer to round off the bottom where it should be (give it a narrow knocking point or waist) then it's knocked off the remaining puntel and rod. Roughly that's the deal.
