I’m almost 70 years old but out of the immense respect I have for you I will call you Mr. Clapton. I know what it’s like to lose a son. My wife and I have lost three one just a few days before Christmas in 2021 thank you for helping me through the rough times with your beautiful music. Oddly, I was thinking about an old friend the first time I listened to this. Blew me away how the lyrics told a version of our times together. Heck, we even went to see Eric together once upon a time. He was a musician, I was the roadie/crew. Alcoholic addicts, brothers. Cancer took him about 20 years ago, but we still have our moments. What a beautiful song. It is perfect. Most people think of Eric Clapton the guitarist but he has been and still is a great singer. It is why his music can flow through any genre. He is a brilliant musician with the guitar and his voice. This felt like a memory. Like something he would have done in the Seventies alongside Lay Down Sally or Wonderful Tonight. But it also had a bit more reverence to it that only could come from the man singing it now. Well Done, Mr. Clapton, Well Done.
