Actually I’ve been following NASCAR my whole life AND been watching this channel back when it was doing NASCAR parody’s. Aero racing IS racing. Playoffs are legitimate. Hard tires are the best tires. Brian France did nothing wrong. I don’t care about agendas. You’re not going to change my mind.

This was one of the better 550 HP races. A lot better than the 600, Pocono, or Kansas earlier this year. It’s a car issue more importantly.. Doesn’t matter what package you have if the car sucks.

Racing was ok but to me there is a problem when the Xfinity cars are running faster than the cup cars! Give them 750 horses, if they can’t hold it in the turns then they will lift…. 190 cup cars 198 xfinity🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

I agree. The drivers are professionals. Let them figure out the power to use based on the skinny pedal

The Xfinity cars ran 195 into turn 1. Then Cup cars ran 187 into turn 1. Such an embarassment seeing how Cup Series, the top level of American motorsports is slower than Xfinity cars.

I feel like a large part of why there weren't many green flag passes for the lead is because there were teammates running 1-2 most of the race. HMS dominated most of this race, and the drivers were more concerned building a gap between 3rd place than they were passing for the lead - Kyle Larson even said at one point he wouldn't try to pass. Dillon was clear multiple times and just didn't make the move - the opportunity to pass for the lead was there, if the drivers wanted to take it.

I think we need the 750HP taper. Not 550. I feel as if the 550 package wasn’t enough to Michigan. I’ve always enjoyed the 200-205+ super high speed Michigan. The 550 feels as if it isn’t enough. No lifting doesn’t seem fun for me.

I am saying this from someone who was at the MIS: I can say this is the best Michigan race I have been to. I was listening to the radios and heard drivers having trouble with dirty. This brings up your point that there were not many passes under green flag, which is true, however the restarts made up for. Austin Dillon's wreck was interesting to see because it was all right in front of us. I also believe that I now know that stages make the racing better as this was the first stage race I had been to. The rain at the track never got any more than sprinkle and it never really rained. In my opinion, NASCAR didn't need to throw the yellow, but it could have been worse in other areas of the track, and the drops were fairly large, so I hold nothing against NASCAR. The ending was for sure exciting and I enjoyed the race.

One thing I love about Michigan is at 2 miles the back stretch is so long and guys load up 1 & 2 and just shoot like a rocket down the back on a huge run flying past a couple cars and wrestle the car into 3 trying to hold on to their momentum. Definitely was better racing 10 years ago but glad to still see some of it in this one.

I was at the race and it seemed the top 8 guys were basically identical speed wise for the majority of a run. For that long green flag run when Elliot lead about every lap, I wasn't sure if it was dirty air holding Larson and Hamlin back or if they were that equal, but after the pit stops Larson passed Elliot, but couldn't get much further that a second or so ahead. Seems without much off throttle time, guys were almost too equal. Hard to tell who truly had the best car

I sat and watched this race with two friends who are new to NASCAR, and we had a very fun time! I've watched NASCAR since Daytona '03, and I understand the aero issues are not how we really want racing to be. However, I was on the edge of my seat those last ten laps, not knowing who would win--and that's exciting! Passing for the lead WAS possible, but the drivers were just playing aero chess. Not ideal, yes! But let's take a good exciting race at Michigan and be happy. We haven't had such a close race there that I can recall. 65% is wrong.

So on the 550 package is the aero so restrictive that the engine is throttled down to 550 or is the engine actually 550. If it is because of the aero why don't they just revamp the aero package to where its back at a higher hp

Been watching NASCAR for 2 seasons now, and aside from the Bristol dirt race, that was one of the most exciting, if not most exciting races I've enjoyed so far. Though I also see your point about dirty air. Reminded me of Kansas with Harvick completely unable to get around Logano. You might be right in saying a lack of lead changes traded for such a thrilling race might be the way they go. For me, it was more Dillon's fault, coming up the track like that. What a shock though. That's a crash that I feel would have definitely killed someone pre Dale Sr. Glad he's okay. Anyway, always enjoy your takes. Keep it up.
